‘Live’ Are Kelly Ripa & Ryan Seacrest Still Friends After His Exit?
Ryan Seacrest is known for his work as a host on shows like American Idol and Wheel of Fortune. However, he once worked alongside Kelly Ripa on her Live talk show. Recently, Seacrest has opened up about his relationship with Ripa in the years gone by.
Ryan Seacrest & Kelly Ripa Worked Together For Around Six Years On Live
Ripa and Seacrest co-hosted their own namesake series, Live with Kelly and Ryan, for around six years, starting in 2017. However, in 2023, Seacrest would leave the series, with Ripa’s real-life husband, Mark Consuelos, taking on hosting duties.
Following this, Seacrest would take on hosting duties on Wheel of Fortune, taking on the mantle from Pat Sajak. In addition, Seacrest would continue in his hosting duties for the long-running competition series, American Idol.
That said, Seacrest hasn’t forgotten his days hosting alongside Ripa. Speaking with E! News, he looked back at their time together, even having a few words for Ripa.
Seacrest shared, “I love that show. I had a blast doing it. Kelly and I are still the closest friends, Mark too.”
Seacrest even teased that fans would soon be seeing him on the show. As he revealed, “Mark and Kelly have invited me to come on in a couple weeks. So, I will be there. The trifecta, we’ll be on the set. I can’t wait to see them.”
Around the time he left the show back in 2023, Seacrest also had a few kind words for Ripa, even admitting leaving her side was one of the hardest parts about the exit.
At the time, the American Idol presenter shared, “I’ll miss being next to Kelly every single day. We’re extremely close, we’re very good friends, we’ll remain good friends. But there’s that hour of communicating with somebody. You become super excited about doing it. You laugh, and then, of course, you can’t remember what you said to each other. So, I’ll miss that part.”
Seacrest Also Recently Revealed A Holiday Tradition He Misses With Ripa
Around the same time, Ripa herself also had a few kind words for Seacrest. Speaking with the publication, she shared, “I’m so grateful to have spent the last six years beside my dear friend of too many decades to count and will miss starting my days with Ryan. Ryan’s energy, passion and love for entertainment is one-of-a-kind.”
For his part, Consuelos also shared, “We have such a great relationship. We’re truly like brothers.”
Over the years, Seacrest has also made appearances on Live since his departure. Recently, during the holidays, he confessed that he missed the tradition of wearing Christmas pajamas on set with Ripa, a tradition Consuelos shared he didn’t wish to continue.
At the time, Seacrest shared, “The highlight for me was the Christmas onesies. So comfortable to do an entire show in a onesie. I will miss that. I will be watching in a onesie at home.”
