WCTH Season 12 just has two more episodes left. The finale is on March 23, and Hallmark has already released photos from this episode entitled “Must Be Gold.” There are all sorts of photos from a special party for Minnie including a curious one with Lucas (Chris McNally), Elizabeth (Erin Krakow), and Nathan (Kevin McGarry).

Hallmark Releases When Calls The Heart Season 12 ‘Must Be Gold’ Photographs
Hallmark has now released WCTH Season 12, Episode 12 photos from “Must Be Gold.” What is this episode about? According to the official synopsis, “As graduation approaches, Elizabeth and Nathan plan for a happy summer together. Lucas and Edie race Rosemary and Bill to find the gold. The town plans a sweet surprise for Minnie.”
Along with this synopsis is a cornucopia of photos. Most of them seem to take place at the shindig honoring Minnie. However, one could be of interest to many Hearties. Lucas is seen in front of a couple, who are most definitely Elizabeth and Nathan. Although her face is not shown, her bobbed hair and dress identify her as Elizabeth. As for Nathan, Kevin McGarry’s handsome profile is shown. The couple are looking at Lucas.
Is Lucas confronting the two? Most definitely not. Lucas seems to be smiling and happy. Did he get some news about this couple? It certainly seems like it. There have been hints all season that Elizabeth and Nathan could be getting engaged. Did the couple use this opportunity to share this news with Lucas, Elizabeth’s former fiancée? Maybe.
What Chris McNally Has Said About His WCTH Character’s Wish For Elizabeth
Now that it is possible that Elizabeth and Nathan could be engaged by the WCTH Season 12 finale, what should Team Lucas fans think about the Governor’s tender heart? According to an interview with Swooon, back in October, Chris McNally shared his character’s feelings about Elizabeth. It is pretty clear he will always have her in his heart.
I think that Lucas has always maintained that Elizabeth’s happiness is paramount to him, so seeing her happy with Nathan, that gives him solace.
He’s happy for her, but it obviously still stings. But I don’t think in Lucas’ mind there’s any changing this course. It’s sort of the path has been set. He is coming to terms with it, and he’s at peace with it. Does he wish that it was a different path? Yes, but at the end of the day, he cares for Elizabeth and wants her to be happy.
Hopefully, Season 12 will show some sort of progress in the Lucas and Edie relationship. Hearties better tune in!
WCTH Season 12 has two episodes left. On Sunday, March 16, that episode is called “Having Faith.” In this episode, “When Little Jack falls ill, Elizabeth and Nathan care for him together as Hickam and Mei race to secure medicine. The kids broadcast a baseball game over the radio to lift spirits.”
The WCTH Season 12 finale episode is called “Must Be Gold.” This is the episode with the photo of Lucas with Elizabeth and Nathan. Moreover, the premiere of this episode is on Sunday, March 23, at 9 p.m., Eastern, on the Hallmark Channel.
Each of these episodes will be available to stream on Peacock up to 72 hours after the premiere. Lastly, new episodes are available on the next day on the Hallmark+ streaming channel.
