Katy Perry Mourns Devastating Death

Singer Katy Perry recently mourned the loss of a loved one on social media. The star shared a carousel post, complete with a lengthy caption, in which she touched on her friend, who was also connected to other prominent stars. In addition, the friend’s family has also spoken out about the story.

Perry is a singer and a television personality. In addition to her music career, Perry is also known for her time as a judge on American Idol.

Taking to Instagram, Perry shared a post touching on the loss of her friend, hairstylist Jesus Guerrero. Also known as “Chuy,” he was 34 at the time of his death.

The post was a carousel post featuring pics of Guerrero. In the first, Guerrero could be seen using his phone while holding a stuffed Pikachu toy.

The post continued on, featuring photos and videos of Perry with Guerrero. The final pic was a screenshot of the 1934 Clare Harner poem, “Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep.”

In addition, Perry also included a lengthy caption. The star started with, “Hey Hey aka Chuy aka Jesus, our light filled beautiful boy.”

“You aways made every room so warm and welcome. There was no problem too big to solve and one of your many talents was effortlessly reminding women around the world of our Goddess nature with even just a simple blowout.”

Perry also shared a quote she felt reflected her feelings. As she shared, “Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.”

Concluding the post, Perry shared, “Jesus, you effervescent soul you, you better be giving the other Jesus a choppy feather or an octopus cut up there lol… till we meet again, I love you Chuy.”

According to Daily Mail, Guerrero passed away this past Saturday, February 22. The 34-year-old was said to have passed on “very suddenly and unexpectedly.” The publication noted that, in addition to Perry, Guerrero also worked with Kylie Jenner, Jessica Alba, and Jennifer Lopez.

Speaking with Us Weekly, Gris Guerrero, Jesus’ sister, shared, “We have been able to track every one of his steps, but we don’t know what got him sick or what was [the] sickness. It all happened suddenly and no one knows why.”
