Wendy Williams Keeps Promise To 94-Year-Old Dad
Wendy Williams has made headlines in recent months with her guardianship, which has seen the TV personality living in a facility. However, Williams’ current situation hasn’t kept her from keeping a promise to her father. In fact, the story became a real family affair, with Wendy’s son also sharing a new photo of her.
Wendy Williams Reunited With Both Her Father Thomas & Her Son Kevin
Wendy Williams of The Wendy Williams Show fame has been held in a New York City facility under her current guardianship. The star had retired from public life after she had reportedly been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.
In recent months, Williams has spoken out about her situation, including her diagnosis. Since then, many including Williams herself and members of Williams’ family have called for an end to her guardianship.
Recently, however, Williams was given a break from the facility for a family event. The star was allowed to travel to Florida to visit her father Thomas Williams Sr. for his 94th birthday with permission from a judge.
Wendy’s son Kevin Hunter Jr. shared a pic of the festivities on Instagram, showing his mother reuniting with her father. As noted by TMZ, “Wendy was clearly soaking in every second of her freedom during her break from the assisted living facility.”
The Star’s Most Recent Excursions Prior To This Have Been Dental Appointments
Williams appeared with a new blonde hairdo. Looking her best for the big event, she also wore a black with a matching jacket and a “W” necklace.
The star was also seen holding up a birthday card for her father. A caption read, “Happy I could make this happen for you Papa. I said by any means and I kept my word.”
In addition to reuniting with her father, the event also allowed Williams to reconnect with her son. As part of the birthday weekend celebration, the mother and son could be seen enjoying brunch at Matilda’s Kitchen. Enjoying Cuban-style food, the two could be seen in a clip shared by Kevin’s friend Ronald.
The mother and son bond was also notable as it had previously been reported that Williams claimed her son financially took advantage of her. For his part, Kevin reportedly denied any wrongdoing.
However, as noted by TMZ, Williams had said that she was looking forward to reuniting with her son ahead of her Miami trip. From what was seen, the two appeared to be putting the past behind them.
As previously reported, the past few times Williams had been allowed to leave the New York facility over the past 30 days have been for dental appointments. On Instagram, TMZ also noted Williams was able to take a trip to a mall after landing in Miami.
