‘CBS Mornings’ Gayle King Reveals Getting Married Is Next?
Gayle King has had a storied life, from her journalistic career to her recent trip to space. However, King recently shared what could be next for her. Fans might soon hear wedding bells chiming for CBS Mornings co-host. This also follows what King had previously talked about finding a new love in her life.
Gayle King Recently Made Headlines As Part Of Blue Origin’s All-Female Space Crew
King has worn many hats throughout her career. For many, she is best known to fans for co-hosting CBS Mornings, starting with its previous incarnation, CBS This Morning. King has also served as an editor-at-large for O, The Oprah Magazine.
Recently, King made headlines when she became part of Blue Origin’s eleventh flight to space. The all-female crew also featured the likes of pop singer Katy Perry and fellow journalist Lauren Sánchez.
Following King’s trip among the stars, she also recently attended the “TIME 100” gala on Thursday, April 24. During the event, she spoke with People and revealed what she’s got planned next.
Describing her “bucket” list, a list of accomplishments someone wants to complete in their life, King teased, “Getting married.” However, she followed this up with, “No, piercing my ears,” suggesting she was just teasing.
King was previously married to William Bumpus from 1982 to 1993. Together, they share two children, a daughter, Kirby, and a son, William Jr.
Jokes aside, King made clear she was proud of her accomplishments. She shared to a crowd following the trip, “I really am proud of me, because I never in a gazillion years thought I could do this. I walked out of there thinking, ‘Gosh, I can do anything!’“

Jokes aside, King made clear she was proud of her accomplishments. She shared to a crowd following the trip, “I really am proud of me, because I never in a gazillion years thought I could do this. I walked out of there thinking, ‘Gosh, I can do anything!’“
That said, King isn’t averse to the idea of a new love in her life. During a 2024 appearance on The Tamron Hall Show, she shared, dating is complicated when you’re a public figure. As she shared, “If I could go on a dating app and people didn’t know it was me, but I think it’s hard when you’re a public person. I do think that’s hard. So, you just hope a friend of a friend.”

King added she would be interested in some “definitely younger,” but added, “I don’t want to date somebody I could have given birth to.” That said, she also noted, “I don’t want to be a nurse or a purse. I would like it that they have all of their teeth. That would be nice.”
Ultimately, King shared she wanted someone to lend her their support. She shared, “You want somebody who celebrates you, who is excited for you, who is very comfortable in their own skin.” In the end, while King’s recent comment were likely just a joke, fans just might see her have a new romance in her life after all.
