Joy Behar Had A Noticeable Absence

The View co-host, Joy Behar, stepped up and took the reins while moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, was out of town. However, when Whoopi returned from her Paris fashion trip, Joy was missing for several days. Some people wondered if the extra duties took a toll on her, requiring added recoup time. But the network brought in a familiar face, Star Jones, to help fuel the conversation at the table in Joy’s absence.

Joy Behar Back In Action Explaining Long Absence

Some fans of The View know that Joy Behar has been preparing for her off-Broadway show, My First Ex-Husband. Whoopi Goldberg had hinted that Joy was away with the duties surrounding the new play. Joy wrote the play and is starring in it. Since Joy is acting in the first segment, it can take a lot of energy. But she reveals that isn’t the only reason she was out for so long. When Joy took her seat at the table, Whoopi said, “Joy Behar has come back into the fold. She’s been very busy.” In addition to the big gig, Joy admitted, “I was sick.” Whoopi jokes, “You were sick too with eight a week.” Amid all the excitement, Joy shares, “I was sick too with eight a week.”

Stunning Performance

Although The View co-host, Joy Behar had a stressful week between hectic schedules and being sick, it was also rewarding. For instance, Joy shared that her co-workers had shown up for the play to support her. During Joy’s frantic week, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Sara Haines took time to see My First Ex-Husband. Additionally, Joy shows a clip of her proudly attacking a wedding cake. Its destruction was in honor of her play representing divorces. Likewise, she mentions finding icing in her bra even after getting home.

The View panelist discussed that the play has many funny moments, but it is also moving. Seemingly, the contrast is the key to a great show. Joy Behar took “a bunch of stories” women had told her and filtered them into the off-Broadway play. Additionally, Joy said nearly 80% of the audience raised their hands when she asked who was divorced. Significantly, according to Joy, 40-50% of them broke it off last year. Sadly, she declares the institution of marriage just isn’t working anymore. The cast changes every four weeks to keep it fresh. Fans can expect to see Susan Lucci in the upcoming weeks. But the show is packed with great friends and actors, like Susie Essman, from Joy’s life. Correspondingly, she says, “It’s been a fun ride.”

What do you think about Joy Behar’s reason for being absent? Did you miss seeing her last week? Did you enjoy her as the moderator while Whoopi Goldberg was in Paris? Do you like how The View is addressing current hot topics? Drop your comments below.
