‘Happy’s Place’ Casts Former ‘Reba’ Star In Guest Role
For many fans, Happy’s Place is a throwback to Reba McEntire’s namesake sitcom, Reba. In addition to sharing the same cast and crew, including its star, it’s been announced that another Reba alum will appear on the show. They also aren’t the only prominent guest star to be recently announced, either.
Reba Has Had Quite A Few Shout-Outs On Happy’s Place, Already
Happy’s Place, which came out in October 2024, stars country music star Reba McEntire. In the show, Bobbie, plays a woman who inherits her father’s bar, only to learn she must share it with her previously unknown half-sister, Isabella.
In addition to her music career, McEntire also prominently starred in her own sitcom, Reba, from 2001 to 2007. The new series has often paid homage to the earlier series. Notably, actress Melissa Peterman serves as McEntire’s co-star in both series. Both shows also share an executive producer, Kevin Abbott.
According to Variety, the series is set to feature an appearance from another Reba co-star. Christopher Rich, who played McEntire’s ex-husband, will guest star as a character identified as “Maverick.”
Rich’s character has been described as “a local tattoo artist that is very good at his job … as long as he’s using his right hand. Turns out Maverick has had a stroke and likes to tease new clients about which hand he’s going to use when he starts doing their tattoos.”

Another Special Guest Star Will Play Isabella’s Mother
Rich isn’t the only Reba co-star to make a guest appearance on the show. As previously reported, Steve Howey, who played McEntire’s son-in-law Van Montgomery on Reba, guest-starred as a character named Danny on Happy’s Place.
A gag reel for the episode even had Howey break character to play his Reba character and mistake Bobbie for his mother-in-law. Peterman also played along, implying she was her Reba character in witness protection the whole time.

The publication also revealed another notable guest star. Actress Justina Machado, known for her roles is set to play Isabella’s mother, Maritza. The star is known for her roles on Six Feet Under and the Netflix One Day at a Time reboot.
Maritza was described as “a self-made woman who put herself through law school as a single mom. She started a wildly successful law practice and does not suffer fools.”
