‘Breaking Bad’ House For Sale For Astronomical Price
In what seems like an outrageous deal, the owners of Walter White’s house in Breaking Bad are selling the home. The house, which played the role of the meth dealer’s home for the entire series, is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. However, what makes this entire listing shocking is what they are asking for the home compared to its value.
Here is a look at the house listing and what the owners are asking for the property.
Breaking Bad House For Sale For 12-Times Actual Value
The people who own the house that Bryan Cranston’s Walter White lived in on Breaking Bad have listed the house for sale. The house is a 1,900-square-foot home with four bedrooms, one bathroom, and a swimming pool. Zillow lists the home to be worth an estimated $343,000. However, the owners want much more.
The couple who owns the home has listed it for sale for $4 million, which is 11.6 times the house’s actual worth. The only reason anyone would pay that much was to say they owned the house from the AMC series. However, for anyone who doesn’t care about the show, it is an overpriced home in the suburbs of Albuquerque. For that price, someone could buy 10 homes in the same neighborhood.
According to David Christensen, the listing agent, the family who lived there was offered a chance to make some good money in 2006 to let AMC use their home in the series (via TMZ). They had owned the house since 1973. However, not everything was good after the show began airing.
What Was It Like To Own Breaking Bad House?
There is a scene from Breaking Bad in which Walter White throws a pizza on his roof. For a long time after that, fans would come by the house and throw pizza on the family’s roof. Finally, they publicly asked people to stop because it was rude. They said about 300 cars would pass the house daily during the show’s heyday.
Sadly, fans kept throwing the pizzas, so the family had to finally add a gate around the house to keep people out. The family added the gate four years ago. However, by that time, things had slowed down, and David Christensen said people were mostly polite and respectful when driving by to see the house.
While the $4 million price tag for a home worth only a fraction of that seems ridiculous, there is a chance it could find a buyer. David Christensen, who works with eXp Luxury, teamed up with Ryan Johnson of InterPhase Entertainment to list the home for sale.
