Sharon Osbourne Says ‘Ozempic’ Sent Her On ‘Downward Spiral’
Sharon Osbourne has made some new comments about her previous use of the blood sugar medicine Ozempic. Sharon, who does not have diabetes, was using the drug for its other uses. Those uses include weight loss, and she joined many celebs who used it to lose weight, while people suffering from diabetes suddenly found it in short stock.
Here is what Sharon said about Ozempic and why she regrets using it to begin with.
Sharon Osbourne Regrets Using Ozempic
Ozempic is a blood sugar medicine for people suffering from diabetes. However, over the last couple of years, celebrities have started using the medicine for its other popular use, which is weight loss.
This has caused people with diabetes to find it is not in stock, causing them major health concerns. Thanks to the shortage, even similar medications like Trulicity became out of stock since people had to switch from Ozempic.
Now, it appears that some of the celebrities using Ozempic are also experiencing health problems from using the blood sugar medicine to lose weight. Sharon Osbourne, 72, lost 42 pounds last year when she started using Ozempic. However, she now says she has stopped using it because it went too far.
One friend of Sharon’s said, “The weight loss drugs have wrecked her metabolism and there’s no going back for her” (via Radar Online). Sharon also mentioned this in the last few months when she admitted that she wanted to put some weight back on. However, her body wouldn’t cooperate, and she couldn’t add any pounds.
Her friend said Sharon is still stressed out and can’t regain a healthy look anymore. “It just shows the dangers of these ‘quick fix’ cures,” they said. “They are not good for the body. Her weight is on an irreversible downward spiral.”
Sharon Osbourne Says Ozempic Made Her Nauseous
Sharon Osbourne said that she really wanted to try out Ozempic when she heard the success stories of other celebrities who used it. However, when she began using it, she realized that it was a bad decision too late.
“I started using it in November last year,” Sharon said (via Women’s Health Magazine). “I was 142lb when I started using it. For the first two or three weeks, I felt very nauseous.” She said at the time that she knew that she needed to put the weight back on, but she was struggling to do so even after taking the medication.
It has been seven months since Sharon did that interview, and the way her friend tells it, she sounds like she is still unable to get healthy again.
