Fans Demand Michael Strahan Fired After Disrespectful Action
Fox Sports NFL analyst and TV personality Michael Strahan has recently come under fire from viewers on social media. After a recent appearance in honor of Veteran’s Day, the personality had some viewers calling for his termination. Strahan has also responded to what happened on social media.
Michael Strahan Appeared At The San Diego Naval Base
In addition to his work with Fox Sports, Strahan was known for playing 15 seasons with the New York Giants. He’s also known as a co-host for Good Morning America.
More recently, Strahan was part of a show hosted at the San Diego Naval Base ahead of Veterans Day. He had appeared with figures like Terry Bradshaw, Rob Gronkowski, Jimmy Johnson, and Jay Glazer.
Before Sunday’s NFL schedule began, the national anthem played as military personnel appeared with the crew. As is tradition, the Fox panel lined up to place their right hands on their hearts.
Strahan decided to keep his hands folded in front of him. This did not go unnoticed with viewers, with many criticizing Strahan for the gesture.
As Newsmax host Todd Starnes shared on social media, “Michael Strahan disrespected the military during a Veterans Day pre-game show on @NFLonFOX.”
“The great irony is Strahan on a ship surrounded by men and women who would willingly sacrifice their lives to protect his freedom. So, his behavior is not just repugnant, it’s downright cowardly.”
Strahan Responded To What Happened On Social Media
Another wrote, “What the hell is wrong with Michael Strahan!? On effing Veterans Day! Boo, @NFL. Boo, @NFLonFOX. Not cool.” Some called for Strahan’s termination from the network, with one writing, “Fire Michael Strahan! This is unacceptable!”
Some users simply asked why Strahan did chose a different gesture. As one commenter wrote, “Why does Michael Strahan not put his hand over his heart during the playing of our National Anthem?”

As noted by Daily Mail, Strahan himself later responded to these comments by sharing a photo of his father, Major Gene W. Strahan Sr., during his time in the military. As he wrote, “Thank you to all veterans and active service members who courageously risk their lives to protect us every day. Your selfless service is beyond measure.”
“This is my hero, it is also my father, Maj. Gene W. Strahan, Sr. He served for 23 years in the army and was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Division.”
“Just as I honor my father, I keep all of you in my thoughts each and every day as we would not have the safety and freedoms we cherish without you. Thank You.”

The fact that neither side is snow flake ammunune fascinates me. arms in front arms behind hand over their heart. All are respectful. Stop trying to make something out of nothing. He’s a good man. Relax people. Hatred is on both sides of the fence and we all need to just chill the F out.
Thank you for your comment. After doing 2yrs in the Navy which ended b/c of a back injury. Too many other problems in the world than worrying about about where your hand is placed.
He should be fired for disrespecting the American flag and our veterans ! He’s a self proclaimed “entitled” ex pro football player ! Another one that needs to get over himself !! They think they are better than us !! Get over that too !
Who do you mean by us?
I don’t put my hand over my heart either, but I do stand in respect of the NATIONAL ANTHEM. Aren’t there a better things that are going on with this nation that need concern like homelessness and citizens that are hungry and high interest rates?!??
You will find that half of the population that goes to an NFL game does not put their hand over their heart, but they stand in respect……..
whether your hand over your heart or clasped in front as long as you stand not kneel for the National Anthem you are showing respect. those who feel that Strathan should be fired just chill. he did not go against proper way to be for the National anthem. People who kneel do. when you say the Pledge of Alegence your hand goes over your heart.
the people of the United States know, that we put our hand over our hearts during the National anthem. From 1st grade we’re taught this. Strahan needs to be FIRED, I was very disrespectful .
