Selena Gomez Slams Trolls For Body Shaming Her
Selena Gomez has been vocal in the past about body positivity. Following the Emilia Pérez premiere in Los Angeles, Selena faced harsh criticism of her body from online trolls. Gomez did not stay silent about her reaction to these comments. The 32-year-old Only Murders in the Building star took to the comments section to clap back at the trolls.
Selena Hits Back At Online Bullies
Following the Emilia Pérez premiere, trolls took to the comments section to bully Selena Gomez for her appearance at the premiere. Gomez posed with her hand over her stomach and TikTok users posted that she posed this way to cover her stomach and hide her body. The singer quickly defended herself. She said “This makes me sick. I have SEBO in my small intestine. It flares up.” Selena is referring to the bacterial overgrowth she experiences in her small intestine.
The abnormal growth of bacteria in Selena Gomez’s small intestine can cause many uncomfortable symptoms for her. This includes bloating, abdominal pain, weight changes, and other distressing issues. Selena said she does not “look like a stick figure.” She continued “I don’t have that body. End of story. No, I am NOT a victim. I’m just human.” Good for her for not putting up with the trolls.

Selena Gomez Faces Ongoing Health Issues
Selena Gomez has been open with her fans about her ongoing health concerns. She announced in 2013 that she has the autoimmune disorder Lupus. Then, in 2017 she had to undergo a kidney transplant. Most recently she shared that due to her health, she will be unable to carry a child. Gomez said, ” I unfortunately… have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy, that was something I had to grieve for a while.” Selena was still positive about becoming a mother through other means.
Selena Gomez is open to doing surrogacy or adoption to overcome her fertility concerns. She noted, “It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different.” It is good that Selena is open to becoming a mother using a method that is safe for her and her child.
Gomez and her boyfriend Benny Blanco have discussed having children together. Blanco said in May that he would definitely have kids with Selena. She said the Benny is “a light in [her] life.” She continued “I’ve never been loved this way… I love telling him everything.” With proper medical management, Selena and Benny can be parents one day despite her health concerns.
