Mama June Upset Granddaughter, Kylee Relocated Without A Goodbye
Mama June Shannon’s daughter Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell passed away on Dec. 9, 2023, from stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. She was only 29 years old. Anna shared a daughter, Kylee, with her ex-husband Michael Cardwell. Anna also had another child Kaitlyn from a previous relationship. June Shannon recently opened up about what life looks like for Kylee now a year after her mother’s passing.
Mama June Shannon Shares Detail About Losing Kylee
It has been a year since Anna Cardwell passed away from cancer. Her mother June Shannon has opened up about what this year has been like for her. She had to undergo a custody battle to get custody of Anna’s daughter Kaitlyn. She expressed that the family did not seek custody of Kylee because she was in the custody of her father Michael Cardwell. June revealed that Michael relocated with his daughter to Alabama.
Mama June revealed that Michael Cardwell moved to Sylacauga, Alabama the first of November. June said she warned Michael that the children would not get to see each other if he relocated. Shannon stated that Cardwell remarried and relocated despite the problem of separating the sisters. June recalled that Michael tried to also relocate when he married Anna. She said:
“Funny thing is that the same pipeline dream that he has sold to London is him repeating his life with Anna. He was with Anna for two years. Once they got married, he moved to Sylacauga, Alabama. He was going to open up a mechanic shop and they were going to build a house on some land over there.”
June Upset She Did Not Say Goodbye
Mama June Shannon revealed that the family was unable to say goodbye to Kylee before her father relocated her. However, she did say that the girls have been able to see each other. She indicated that “Kaitlyn has been able to go spend time with Michael and his mom and all that.” She further explained that the family has attempted to see Kylee since she was relocated by her father. However, they have been unsuccessful. She explained:
“We want to see Kylee, but the message was, to me from Michael, that Kylee is not going out of his sight, and if he has to pay for that later then he will. So that’s the reason why we, as a family and even Eldridge [Toney, Anna’s second husband,] haven’t been allowed to take Kylee and spend time with her when they’ve had access to Kaitlyn for the last year.”
Mama June said that before Anna passed away, Anna indicated that she believed her ex-husband would likely take Kylee away from the family. June indicated that it was something Anna struggled with prior to her death. The family continues to struggle with Kylee not being in their lives.
