Selena Gomez In Her Best Era Post Health Scare And Disney
Selena Gomez has moved on from her Disney friends. In the past, Gomez was often seen with other Disney stars like Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kylie, and Kendall Jenner, and more. Selena, who has spent much of her life in front of the cameras, has opened up about her health struggles. Gomez has Lupus, and she has been candid about her battle with anxiety and depression. Recently Selena Gomez has expressed gratitude for her new friends and co-stars, Martin Short and Steve Martin.
Selena Gomez’s Best Era
Selena Gomez has been open with fans about her struggle with the autoimmune disorder, Lupus. Lupus is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues in the individual’s body. Gomez said because of her Lupus she also suffers from anxiety and depression. She also underwent a kidney transplant due to her Lupus. In 2018, she shared that she was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. Selena has kept a low profile while dealing with her health conditions.
Now, she is coming back into the limelight. Gomez stars in Only Murders in the Building with Martin Short and Steve Martin. Fans were skeptical at first in terms of how Gomez would blend with Short and Martin since she is in her 30’s and they are in their 70’s. The trio has amazing on-screen chemistry, and the three made Only Murders in the Building a huge success.
Selena Gomez got her first Emmy nomination with her performance as Mabel Mora in Only Murders in the Building. This year, she also earned recognition in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category. More importantly, the show brought Martin Short and Steve Martin into Selena’s life. This began what Gomez describes as her “best era” yet.
Gomez Makes Best Friends With Famous Co-Stars
Selena expressed that she was worried about being “A little lonely” on the set of Only Murders in the Building. However, she said that Martin Short and Steve Martin ended up being like her “Two crazy uncles.”
Gomez said: “They asked questions about my character and they valued my opinion. Eventually they kind of just took me under their wing and picked on me and made me laugh and had words of wisdom when I needed them. All of the fear of me feeling like I would be alone went away, and now they’re my guys. I was just watching videos of them and I got emotional because I’m like, ‘Those are my guys.’ Some of my best friends are 70-year-olds.”
