‘GMA’ Michael Strahan Pulls Major Prank On Fox NFL Sunday
Good Morning America host Michael Strahan also has a major role on Fox NFL Sunday. This week on the broadcast, he and his broadcast partners decided to pull a prank on Rob Gronkowski. The former Super Bowl champion was put into a difficult situation that he tried to play off, much to the humor of his co-hosts.
Here is what Strahan and his fellow broadcasters did to Gronkowski.
Michael Strahan Pulls Major Prank On Fox NFL Sunday
Michael Strahan is one of the NFL stars who works on the Fox NFL Sunday broadcast during the games. He works alongside Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Curt Menefee, Jimmy Johnson, Rob Gronkowski, and Jay Glazer. This week, the team decided to pull a prank on Gronkowski.
The prank started with Jay Glazer breaking the news that the “great Pro Bowl tight end,” Rich Russo, was about to make his return to the Dallas Cowboys (via YouTube). Gronkowski stood by them and listened as everyone talked about how great Russo was. Howie Long even said people compared him to NFL Hall of Fame star Tony Gonzalez as well as Rob Gronkowski himself.
They then asked Rob his thoughts on Russo’s talent and his return to the Cowboys. There was one problem. Rich Russo does not exist and was a player made up for this segment.
For his part, Gonzalez tried to play it off and just made some random comments about Russo coming back from an injury, so he might need time to get back into the swing of things. Michael Strahan was clearly trying not to laugh, and things got out of control when Terry Bradshaw said that Russo was the only NFL player missing two fingers on his hand.
The team asked Gronkowskui how that would affect Russo. Gronk simply said that he had not idea because he has all five of his fingers. This was the end of the gag when everyone started laughing. The problem is that Gronk thought they were laughing at him for saying he had five fingers instead of ten.
Rob Gronkowski Reacts To Michael Strahan Prank
As everyone was laughing, Rob Gronkowski still looked confused. Finally, Michael Strahan and the others explained the joke. They told him there was no Rich Russo. That is when Rob figured out what was going on.
Rob said he was about to tell his colleagues that he had no idea who Rich Russo was. Instead, he believed they were live and chose to play along. He spoke about the incident with his colleagues after the fact and said he learned two things from it.
Gronkowski said he learned he was funny and that he was always prepared.
