Was Jonna Mannion Set Up On ‘The Challenge’?

The most common reason a person would agree to compete on a game show is to win money. For contestants on The Challenge: Battle of the Eras, that so happens to be the case. Jonna Mannion was just eliminated from the competition in Season 40, Episode 6, which means that cash prize is now out of reach for her. Where did things go wrong for the reality TV star? Stick around for the details.

Jonna Mannion Says She Was “Set Up”

Jonna spoke candidly about her elimination with Entertainment Weekly saying she’s convinced she was “set up” by people who were supposed to be on her own team. The pressure was on for Jonna and her competitors because they knew exactly what was at stake. Winning The Challenge means taking home a massive cash price of $1 million split among those who come out on top. That’s enough money to make anyone take this type of competition seriously. Jonna shared details about how it all fell apart saying:

”Devin and maybe Tori realized they can’t make me do what they want me to do, so I had to go. So then they stir up all the stuff within the team, ‘Jonna is not complying, and she’s selfish. There’s our escape.’ I was all about Era 3, but I knew there were so many side deals going on and I was being set up. Jordan kept saying, ‘You’re not being set up. We’re going to win.’ And I’m like, ‘There’s a possibility we won’t, Jordan.’ And he’s like, ‘What do you mean? Era 3 is the best.’ But we don’t know what the challenge is!”

Jordan might not have seen elimination coming, but Jonna certainly saw the line in the sand! Now that she’s been eliminated from the show, what will keep her busy? Based on her Instagram feed, Jonna’s definitely got a lot going on. She’s a mother of two who appears to enjoy quality time with her husband, children, and friends. Much of the newest content on her Instagram feed is promotional pics and videos for The Challenge. However, there’s also tons of content highlighting her cheery moments off-camera.

In one photo thread, Jonna appears happier than ever with her husband while rocking a sun hat on a lovely spring afternoon. In another thread, Jonna shared pics of her blissful vacation in Croatia with beautiful sunset backdrops behind her. Will Jonna ever compete on The Challenge again, though? When Entertainment Weekly outright asked her, her response was semi-promising:

“I don’t know, dude. Season 40 was very difficult to navigate. After the All Stars wins, I was like, ‘I want to end on a high note,’ and I feel like I’m ultimately chasing… I want to just end on a good season, and then walk away. But let’s be real, I love The Challenge, and I love competing in it. We’ll see.”
