‘Survivor 47’ Photos Give First Look At New Cast Members
Survivor 47 is only two weeks away. With the new season right around the corner, CBS released a look at the upcoming cast of competitors. This season sees an eclectic mix of people trying to win the grand prize and end up named as the next champion.
Here is what you need to know about the new cast.
Survivor 47 Sees Two Podcast Hosts In Competition
There are two bigger names in the Survivor 47 cast than usual. While most cast listings are mostly unknowns who become big stars as the seasons wear on, this season has two stars coming into the series. One of them is bigger than the other, as well.
One of the biggest names on the reality competition this season is Jon Lovett. He was a comedian who got a huge break when he became a speechwriter for President Barack Obama. He then moved on to work as the co-host for Pod Save America. While lots of people know him from the podcast, he will now face a different challenge when he joins the cast of Survivor.
Jon isn’t the only podcast name on the show this season. Another castaway this season is Aysha Welch. She works on a podcast that members of the Survivor community know about. She covers Big Brother, Claim to Fame, Love Is Blind, Survivor, and more on Rob Cesternino’s Rob Has a Podcast.
Rob Cesternino competed in Survivor: The Amazon and Survivor: All-Stars. He could also return for the show’s 50th anniversary edition, which will be another all-star season.
Former Miss Deleware On Survivor 47
The new season also has a former Miss Delaware. Katie Hanson was Miss Delaware Sierra Wright. Wright was crowned Miss Delaware USA in 2018. She was also Miss Delaware Teen USA in 2015.
“People look at me as an underdog. ‘That’s Miss Delaware, whatever; she has nothing more to her,'” Sierra Wright says in the promo. “And I’m like, ‘I’m a big dog! Woof!'”
The Survivor 47 names have mostly been listed for the new season, and the new promo features a few new contestants delivering a sound clip, like Miss Delaware. This season’s oldest competitor is 59-year-old Sue Smey from Putnam Valley, New York, who owns a fight school.
Teeny Chirichillo (24) works as a freelance writer. Rome Cooney (30) is an E-Sports commentator. Anika Dhar (26) is a marketing manager. TK Foster (31) works as an athlete marketing manager. Tiyana Hallums (27) works as a flight attendant.
Rachel LaMont (34) is a graphic designer. Genevieve Mushaluk (33) works as a corporate lawyer. Gabe Ortis hosts a radio show. Kyle Ostwald (31) is a construction worker. Kishan Patel (28) is an ER doctor. Sam Phalen works as a sports reporter.
Andy Rueda (31) works in AI. Caroline Vidmar (27) is a strategy consultant. Aysha Welch (32) works as an IT consultant. Sierra Wright (27) is a nurse. Sol Yi works in medical device sales.
