At the beginning of June, Doubling Down With The Derricos stars, Karen and Deon Derrico chose to file for divorce. While this decision has to be hard on their fourteen kids, they are pressing on. At the end of Season 5, the Derricos also moved to a new home for their babies. Sadly, the family has been through a lot over the past few years. Likewise, not only are they juggling the normal day-to-day challenges, but GG has been battling cancer as well. Additionally, the family discovered that Deon’s brother had a son, Amani, but in a terrible turn of events, lost him just a little less than a month ago. On Karen Derrico’s Instagram page, she gave an update about her and Deon Derrico’s kids. She captions: “👀 NEW 🏫 YEAR = NEW 🏫! 📚✂️✏️📓🚸🖍️📋🥰#theDerricos #schooldays #kandidlyKaren #hybrideducation.” Then, she shows off the first day of school for their big crew! While the family is going through huge transitions with a move, loss in the family, and Karen and Deon‘s divorce, the kids still seem happy and thriving. Undeniably, the little ones appear to be bursting at the seams with excitement about starting their first day of school. Several of the kids hop up and down with joy for the new adventure ahead. Backpacks are lined up and the van is full! Furthermore, even with the difficult changes in their lives, the kids seem more resilient than ever.
