In some distressing news for streaming fans, Disney is once again raising the price of its Disney+ streaming service. This is just the latest price hike in what is looking like an annual deal for the streaming service, and they aren’t alone in making things more expensive for households.

Here is how much Disney is raising their prices and how it compares to others.

Disney+ Raising Prices Again In 2024

Disney is raising the price once again on its Disney+ streaming service, as well as on Hulu and ESPN+. The company raised prices in October 2023 and will raise them again on October 17, 2024. It almost seems like the company will keep raising prices every year until subscribers start to tap out.

The new costs apply to both the ad-free and ad-supported tiers and will also increase for people who bundle all three services together. The good news is that the premium tier and the new bundle that adds on Max will remain the same price. The company seems to want to push people to those higher-priced bundles that save money for people who want all the services.

Here are the new prices for the packages:

  • Disney+ Basic (with ads) – $9.99 (was $7.99)
  • Premium – $15.99 (was $13.99)
  • Hulu with ads – $9.99 (ad-free is $18.99)
  • Hulu + Live TV – $82.99 (ad-free is $95.99)
  • ESPN+ – $11.99 (was $10.99)
  • The Trio Bundle – $16.99
  • The Trio Premium Bundle – $26.99
  • Disney+/Hulu – $10 (was $9.00)
  • Disney+/Hulu Premium – $19.99

As you can see, the cost to have all three with ads is actually $14 cheaper if bundled together. For those who want no ads, the savings on bundling all three is $20. For those who have both Disney+ and Hulu, the savings on bundling them is $10 without ads and $16 less with ads.

As mentioned, there is also a bundle with Disney+, Hulu, and Max that runs $16.99 a month with ads and $29.99 a month without ads. By itself, Max is $9.99 with ads and $16.99 a month without ads, so that is even more savings.

How Does This Compare To Other Companies?

As mentioned, Max runs between $9.99 and $20.99 (Ultimate Ad-Free) a month, which is a little less than the new Disney+ prices.

None of the streaming companies come close to matching Netflix for subscribers. Netflix recently raised prices as well. It has a plan with ads for $6.99, which is much less than anything Disney+ or Max offers. The Standard plan without ads is $15.49, which equals the new rates, and there is also a Premium plan for $22.99 that includes HD/Dolby viewing.

Other services include Peacock, which runs 7.99 a month for Premium or $13.99 for Premium Plus (no ads). Paramount+ costs $5.99 and $11.99 to add Showtime to the service. Amazon has its Prime Video, which is part of Amazon Prime at $14.99 a month (with savings for annual plans), but that also includes free two-day shipping.

Are you going to stick with Disney+ after the price hikes? Do you still think the service is worth the higher price? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
