Dr. Taylor Hayes is a psychiatrist, and this is the first time that Budig has played someone in the mental health profession. It has her very excited about the possibilities.

“I love therapy — I’ve gone to years of therapy — which is a little different from psychiatry, obviously,” Budig said (via PEOPLE). “I’ve been around enough mental health care professionals … just to get a sense of what they’re like.”

She said that she even considered going back to college before getting the job on The Bold and the Beautiful to study psychology. “It’s ironic that I got this part, given that that’s what I was going to try and do in the fall, anyway,” the actress said.

Budig also said it was interesting getting back into the fast day-to-day schedule of soaps. Her last project was in 2022 with the TV movie Fit for Christmas. However, she said it was “getting that muscle back up and working again.”

The role also reunites her and Thorsten Kaye, who plays her love interest Ridge. They both worked together on All My Children.

  1. Love Rebecca Budig but not for the role of Taylor. She does not look old enough to have a daughter in her 30’s & two grandchildren. Guess we will see how it goes.
