Al Roker’s Daughter Gives Him A Tasty Treat During Paris Olympics
Al Roker is in Paris with other members of the Today cast as they cover the 2024 Summer Olympics. However, this trip was more than just seeing the Olympics for Roker. His daughter, Leila, lives in Paris and has been in France since she moved there for college.
During Al’s trip to Paris, his daughter had a huge treat for him as they set out on a crawl across the city.
Al Roker Goes On Croissant Crawl In Paris With Daughter
Al Roker headed out with co-host Craig Melvin to join daughter Leila on a croissant crawl on Today this week. This was a chance for Leila to show her dad one of the best things that a foodie could want to try in Paris. They hit some of the best locations that sell croissants in the city.
Leila, 25, moved to Paris for college seven years ago and has seemingly fallen in love with the city. Part of it is the food. Al said that his daughter is now the “Croissant Crawl Queen” as she sets out with her dad and Craig to run through some of her favorite stops in the city.
They hit Chez Meunier, which was apparently voted the “best croissant” in 2023, and Craig said it was the “best croissant in Paris.” They then went to try the viral cookie, which originated at Maison Louvard. Next, they went to the Philippe Conticini and ate the XXL Croussant, the “biggest croussant in Paris.”
Craig was impressed with Al’s daughter, calling her the “hostess with the mostess.”
Al Roker Happy To Be With Daughter During Olympics
It is clear that Al Roker misses his daughter, as she has been living abroad for seven years. Leila said that she still loves the magic of Paris, calling the city “incredible.”

For Al, he said that getting to catch up with Leila in Paris during the Olympics is a “bonus” for him. “I mean, that’s the gold medal because she’s lived here almost seven years and she speaks French fluently and so we love Paris to begin with. So it’s a great reason to come,” Al said (via PEOPLE).
Leila’s mother, Debrah Roberts, is also in town for the Olympics, so it is a big family affair. Al said he is proud that his kids all grew up to be accomplished. His oldest, Courtney, is a chef, and his youngest, Nick, just started college. He said that having Leila in Paris is “the frosting on the [top].”
“It’s been just really nice having kind of a reunion with the family and getting to see events,” Leila said. “And I think Paris really rose to the occasion.”
