This fall, there will be a new series about Mormons available for Hulu subscribers to binge. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives debuts on the streaming network in September.
This certainly won’t be the first show centered around Mormonism. So what sets this series apart from the other shows?

There’s been a growing obsession with Mormonism in the media over the last few years.
Reality shows such as Sister Wives and Escaping Polygamy have captivated viewers for quite some time. Most recently, documentaries like Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey and Mormon No More have displayed a darker side of the religion.
So what exactly will Hulu subscribers see when The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premieres?

Many shows about Mormonism document people looking to escape their circumstances and live better lives. But this new series seems to take a closer look at the lives Mormon women lead behind the curtain.
According to Variety, the new series can best be described as a “scandalous world of a group of Mormon mom influencers implodes when they get caught in the midst of a swinging sex scandal that makes international headlines. Now, their sisterhood is shook to its core. Faith, friendship and reputations are all on the line. Will #MomTok be able to survive and continue to give the rulebook a run for its money, or will this group fall from grace?”
In other words, it seems like this series will be more drama-focused and less about finding healing for religious trauma.
The publication reports that all six episodes of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives drop on Hulu starting September 6. If it’s successful, Hulu might renew it for further episodes.

Hulu created an Instagram account to drum up interest in the new show. While some are excited to learn more about the scandal and drama, other Instagram users had different reactions.
