ESPN fans are not happy right now. Many fans have said that First Take, the talk segment that usually stars Stephen A. Smith, is “falling apart.” The reason for this is the absence of certain talents from the show this week. However, Smith also released a statement on Friday about his visions for the show, which might not be what these fans wanted to hear.

This is why fans are unhappy with First Take and what Stephen A. Smith had to say.

Fans Feel ESPN First Take Is ‘Falling Apart’

Over the last month, ESPN’s First Take has had some personnel changes, making fans frustrated. First Take regulars Molly Qerim and Stephen A. Smith were missing in action more often than usual.

Thursday’s edition was fronted by Christine Williamson, who replaced Molly. The main host has been absent all week as she is on vacation. Lead analysts Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe were also away after their grueling NBA postseason reporting.

However, a lot of fans hate that the stars are allowed to take vacations and say the show “falls apart” without them. Some are demanding the stars cut their vacations short so they can entertain them on the show again.

  • “First Take during this time of the year is really 3rd take, who are these people”
  • “First Take falls apart w/o Molly”
  • “Where is Molly? Steven A? Shannon? Come on now this is getting crazy”

However, while fans are not happy seeing other people hosting the show, Stephen A. Smith loves it. He feels he is helping make these other talking heads into stars.

Stephen A. Smith Says Skip Bayless Will Not Return To First Take

Stephen A. Smith had a huge segment on The Stephen A. Smith Show on Friday. Fox just announced that his old First Take partner, Skip Bayless, was leaving Fox, and fans wanted him back on First Take. However, after ESPN announced it wouldn’t happen, Smith came on and gave his thoughts.

Smith said he was not consulted, but if anyone asked him, he would tell Bayless no as well. Here is the reason. Smith admits that Bayless did help him get onto ESPN years ago, but he has since moved on. He said that he wouldn’t want to go back to the back-and-forth with Bayless on First Take because it would disrupt the team he built.

Smith said that he has a cast of characters he talks to on First Take, and as the show has revealed lately, they are there when he misses days. He said he wants to find new talent and he wants to help raise up everyone on his show. He said he will never do anything that takes away from them.

Smith also said he has bigger dreams. He talked about his General Hospital role. He said he wants to produce documentaries, features, movies, and more. More than anything, he wants to help find and develop the stars of the future. Bayley is from his past, and he is ready to keep moving forward.
