‘On Patrol: Live’ Fans Petition To Reboot ‘Live Rescue’
On Patrol: Live fans are petitioning to reboot the now-defunct hit series, Live Rescue. Though it has been off of the air for over three years now, the show has been sorely missed. Therefore, could enough fans help to bring it back? Keep reading for more details.
On Patrol: Live Fans Petition To Reboot Live Rescue
When Live PD went off the air in 2020 due to turbulent police times, it was hard for viewers. They did appreciate the show and what went along with it. Watching cops on patrol as they handled the most difficult situations was thrilling and exciting. Unfortunately, there was so much going on in the world in 2020 that the show had to halt production. Fortunately, in 2022, the show was rebranded On Patrol: Live and moved from A&E to Reelz. Though deemed not as interesting as its predecessor, viewers are glued to their televisions on Friday and Saturday nights.
At the same time, there are other true crime shows that fans desperately miss. One of them is Live Rescue, which went off the air in January 2021. It lasted three seasons and focused on first responders such as firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs. Created by those who developed Live PD, it was a hit and it seems to be missed. Fans are now starting to wonder if they can reboot LPD, could Live Rescue have a chance? A Reddit thread was started to chat about that being a possibility:
- Hey there, guys! Just wanted to jump on here today and ask if you guys think there should be a revival of “Live Rescue.” Only difference would be–it would be on REELZ, not A&E. Thanks! 😁👍🏻
So, what did fans of the show think about this idea? More so, should Live Rescue join On Patrol: Live over at Reelz?
- I liked the Live Rescue shows and would love to see them again.
- I loved watching it. I’m for bringing it back.
- Yes. I NEED to see more elevator rescues.
- I think instead of a totally separate show they should somehow incorporate it into the current show
Reason It May Be Impossible
Although fans were on board with bringing Live Rescue back, even adding it into On Patrol: Live, it may be impossible. One follower cited HIPPA laws as the reason why the series was initially canceled in the first place:
- I think HIPAA laws are what shut down Live Rescue. I work in large event security and we strongly discourage patrons from filming others at the worst time of their lives. I’ve trained my people to tell people filming that if it was you overdosing, drunk, tripping balls naked or any other medical issue you wouldn’t want it to be viral tomorrow. Don’t be “that guy”. We use the group to shame the person filming.
So, if that is in fact the reason why the show was shut down, there may be no way it could come back. However, if not then hopefully it may see the light of day with enough petitioning from the fans.
