‘Live’ Soap Star Bullied Over Trying To Split Up Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos

Soap Star Bullied Over Trying To Split Up Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos
Live with Kelly and Mark works because of married couple Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa. They starred together on All My Children and eventually tied the knot in 1996. Together, they have three children are are quite content in their lives. There was a point where they ended their relationship but reconnected when they had an appearance on Live. That was when Mark realized he had made a big mistake and wanted Kelly back, leading them to elope. However, someone else in the soap world was desperately trying to split up the duo.
Cameron Mathison, who is a General Hospital staple and has appeared in various holiday films, was the culprit. However, it was not that he was trying to destroy their real-life romance but rather tear their characters apart on AMC. He chatted on Live about how his character of Drew Cain has become immensely villainous. Cameron then referenced a time when his character Ryan tried to end Hayley (Ripa) and Mateo’s (Consuelos) relationship:
“But you know what, you guys? The only time I have ever played a character that’s been disliked this severely on soap operas in my life — and it’s been a stretch, almost 30 years — was when my character Ryan tried to break up Hayley and Mateo.”

After that incident, Cameron Mathison learned what it was like to be severely hated. He then recalled a time when he was accosted for going after Kelly Ripa’s character, even though it was his job:
“I had a bus pull over on Columbus Avenue, and the bus driver got off yelling at me saying, ‘Stay away from Hayley!’ I had people hating me! I’m like, ‘I’m a good guy!’”
Mark Consuelos backed up Cameron, knowing that he was just doing his job and reading the words handed to him. The way he was treated then is similar to how GH fans see Drew Cain.
Do Fans Remember The Breakup Attempt?
After Cameron Mathison appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark, did AMC fans remember his character of Ryan? More so, did they recall the time he tried to break up Hayley and Mateo? They loved seeing him chat with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos but also had some advice for the soap star:

It appears many have forgotten that Cameron is an actor, and he is not actually trying to break anyone up. Soap fans are passionate, and with good reason, so he seems to be taking it all in stride.
