Michael Strahan recently talked about the possibility of taking a job on the big screen in the future. The Good Morning America host said that he thinks he and his co-star George Stephanopoulos would be great in a “buddy movie.” Fans seem to like the idea too. So, what would the movie be about? Continue reading to see if you’d buy tickets to the show.

Fans Are Shipping A ‘Buddy Movie’ With Michael & George

GMA fans have missed Michael Strahan. He recently returned to the morning talk show after taking a vacation. The former NFL player also took a lengthy hiatus from his hosting duties to spend time with his daughter, Isabella Strahan, as she battled brain cancer.

George and Michael were together at the Good Morning America news desk this week and Rebecca Jarvis sat in for Robin Roberts. Robin is currently traveling abroad for a “work assignment.”

As the trio chatted, Michael Strahan pointed out that he and George were matching. Both men wore light gray suits companies with white shirts and pink-and-white striped ties.

“We got the twins in the house,” Rebecca said. Reacting to their outfits, George recalled, “We haven’t matched in, I don’t know, months, maybe years.”

What Michael said next got the entire studio laughing. “George, you and me. You and me. [We] look like a buddy movie,” he said. As they all laughed about the idea, Rebecca said that she’d buy a ticket to see it.

Good Morning America shared the exchange on Instagram. In the caption, they wrote, “Buddy comedy featuring @michaelstrahan and @gstephanopoulos? We’ll grab the popcorn!”

Based on the reactions from fans in the comments, they could be on to something. “I love the Laughter. I would buy tickets, too,” one person commented. Another wrote, “I’m seeing it multiple times in the theater.”

“Twins Part 2. Move over Arnold and Danny,” a third person chimed in, referring to the 1988 buddy comedy Twins with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.

While it sounds like it might be a good idea, there aren’t any serious talks happening about Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos taking on a movie career.

Michael Strahan & George Stephanopoulos Have Acted Before

That being said, both of them have their hands in other projects in the entertainment industry. George has been a part of several TV shows, including Alpha House, House of Cards, and Spin City.

You may also remember that Michael has appeared in several films, including Charlie’s Angels and Magic Mike XXL. He also was featured in the TV show Black-ish and other projects.

On top of that, Michael Strahan co-founded SMAC Entertainment, which is a talent agency that represents a number of athletes, media personnel, and musicians. The agency also produces scripted and unscripted content, including a comedy film called The UnderDoggs starring Snoop.

Even though the two GMA stars were joking about the possibility of doing a “buddy movie” together, everything is in place to make it happen (if fans are loud enough about wanting it).
