Each and every year, Dancing With The Stars features a new cast of professional dancers. Several dancers are familiar faces, while some are newcomers who intend to stick around for a while.

And on occasion, pros come out of retirement for one reason or another.

Mark Ballas returned to Dancing With The Stars to compete with Charli D’Amelio back in Season 31. The pair dominated the competition and easily won the Mirrorball Trophy.

Now, DWTS fans think one more former pro might come out of retirement for Season 33. Read on to get the scoop.

DWTS Gave A Former Pro A Special Birthday Shoutout

Although DWTS is about celebrities learning to dance, many viewers strongly connect with the pro dancers too. After all, they keep the show going and help their celebrity partners advance in the competition.

There have been many dancers who have come and gone over the years, but fans still have their favorites. Now, some speculate that a retired dancer could return this fall.

The official Dancing With The Stars Instagram account typically only shares happy birthday posts for current pro dancers. The account noticeably skipped former pro dancer Cheryl Burke’s birthday back in May. However, she isn’t on the best terms with the executive team right now. The account also skipped Sharna Burgess’ birthday on June 21. Neither woman is really expected to be involved with the show moving forward.

But the Instagram account shared a post for retired dancer Louis van Amstel’s birthday on June 23. Is it a sign that he’s headed back to the ballroom this fall?

Although Louis van Amstel hasn’t been a regular dancer on DWTS for quite some time, he remains quite popular with fans. Instagram comments on the birthday post included:

  • Happy Birthday Louis – hope you compete on the show again soon! 🎂”
  • “Happy Birthday!! 🥳🎉 Bring him back for Season 33 pls!!”
  • Happy birthday to you @louisvanamstel”

Could Louis van Amstel Come Out Of Retirement Again?

Although the dancer took breaks here and there, Louis van Amstel was a focal point on Dancing With The Stars for the first 15 seasons of the show. He returned in Season 21 and once again in 31, specifically to compete with actress Cheryl Ladd.

It’s entirely possible a Season 33 competitor specifically requested Louis as a partner.

Right now, anything is possible since there aren’t any confirmed competitors yet. Fans will know more as the summer continues. But at this point, a birthday post for Louis seems pretty indicative that he will compete this fall.

Do you hope Louis van Amstel will return for Dancing With The Stars Season 33? Who else would you like to see enter the ballroom this fall? Share your thoughts and ideas in the comments.
