Tori Spelling Has ‘Thick Skin,’ Reacts To Follower Nasty Comments
The one thing about Tori Spelling was that she was always a natural comedian. On Beverly Hills, 90210, her character of Donna Martin was quirky at times and that made her adorable. At the same time, Tori had undergone a nose job at the age of sixteen. She also had a breast augmentation so clearly, there were things she wanted to change about herself. Now, at 51, she has five children and is going through her second divorce. More so, Tori is always combatting trolls who slam the way she parents or how she dresses.
Recently, she took the time to react to follower comments about herself. According to ET, she did this on her misSPELLING podcast. Tori prefaced the segment by saying this:
“You can ask me anything. You can say anything, pretty thick skin. I do read the comments — look at me, I’m human. I can feel them, but I can also have a good sense of humor about them.”
So, how did she fare when she heard what people actually had to say about her? The comparisons as to who she looked like were fairly harsh so her producer started with this:
“She looks like a white Wendy Williams.”
In response, Tori Spelling shared that this is not a new comment and something that she has heard a lot from people:
“So a lot of people have written that comment, and I actually think Wendy Williams is very pretty. She hasn’t been very kind to me in the past, but she is a pretty woman and I feel bad for her situation. But I feel like commenting on that, you’ll never be able to unsee it.”
Of course, Tori initially did not see the resemblance. Then, once someone said it to her that was all she could see. Then, there was the one comparison that she gets all of the time.
White Chicks Tori
The Wayans Brothers made an iconic duo in White Chicks, which was released twenty years ago. Marlon and Shawn Wayans go undercover as two white girls in the Hamptons, covering up their black skin in makeup. They have facial prosthetics as well as body pieces but somehow, they pass as the Wilson sisters. Apparently, Tori Spelling is often compared to these characters a lot.
People apparently say this to Tori:
“‘She looks like Marlon and Shawn Wayans in disguise in the movie White Chicks,’ and I’m like, ‘Fair.'”
So, it does seem that she can be self-deprecating and take a joke. More so, she does have a thick skin on her. Hopefully, she does not internalize the cruel words of others and lets it just slide off.
