Vanna White Reveals When She Will Leave ‘Wheel Of Fortune’
Pat Sajak has one more week left as the Wheel of Fortune host. After Friday’s episode, Pat will leave the show he has hosted for over 40 years. Ryan Seacrest will replace him as the host. However, one thing that won’t change is Vanna White’s position on the show.
When the show returns, Vanna will remain on as the co-host and letter-turning, but how long will she remain in this position after 42 years on the popular game show?
Vanna White Talks About Leaving Wheel Of Fortune
Vanna White is about to say goodbye to Pat Sajak after they co-hosted Wheel of Fortune together for 42 years. Pat chose to retire, and Vanna has said how happy she is for him to get to move on to whatever is next in his life. However, for Vanna, 67, the end is not here yet.
Before she taped her final appearance with Pat, Vanna opened up about him leaving the show and then mentioned when she might be calling it quits. The good news is that she has no plans to leave the show anytime soon. Vanna just got a raise for the first time in decades to stay on with Ryan Seacrest.
“I feel happy for him; I can’t imagine doing the show without him after 41 years,” Vanna said. “I sum it up as [like] reading a good book. It always has to end. This has been the best book I’ve ever read” (via TV Insider).
As for sticking around on Wheel of Fortune, Vanna said that she will be there for at least the next two years, which her new contract is for. “When I heard that Pat was retiring, I thought maybe I should retire too. But I’m not ready! We’ll see toward the end of those two years how I feel,” she said. “I thank God after all these years that I still love my job.”
Vanna White Has Plans With Ryan Seacrest
Vanna White said that she will still be around for at least two years. She also said that she won’t be leaving because she still loves her job.
“I never would have thought that this would turn into a 40-plus-year job,” Vanna said. “I’m happy that I am myself [on the show]. I don’t play a character. I am who I am. It’s a fun show that everybody of all ages enjoys. We give money away!”
Ryan Seacrest joins Vanna White for the next season of Wheel of Fortune, which will premiere in September 2024.
