‘Pawn Stars’ Fans Want Chumlee Fired From Show
Pawn Stars fans are not happy with Austin “Chumlee” Russell. There are even many fans who have watched his back-and-forth interactions with Rick Harrison and don’t understand why he still works there. With his attitude, several fans have called out for the reality TV show to fire him.
Here is what you need to know about why some Pawn Stars fans are getting tired of Chumlee.
Pawn Stars Fans Want Chumlee Fired
Austin “Chumlee” Russell is a star on the HISTORY Channel series Pawn Stars. He went to work for the pawn shop many years ago, five years before the first season was even filmed (he was 21 when they hired him). He is also a childhood friend of Corey Harrison, whose dad, Rick, and grandfather, Richard, founded the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.
Chumlee is also often seen on the show as a comedy character, someone who is a foil for the more serious employees. However, he also has a good eye and sense of worth for many items, including sports memorabilia, toys, video games, sneakers, and more.
A recent appearance by Chumlee has many fans wondering why he still has a job at the pawnshop at all. Several fans want him fired. While he spent years as the bumbling employee, often called a “village idiot” on the show, fans have seen that he has become disrespectful recently.
This all came from a video that Chumlee posted on his Instagram account while he was working at a History Channel event in Mexico called Historyfest.
What Did Chumlee Do That Has Fans Upset?
Chumlee posted a video on Instagram of him bringing a coffee to Rick Harrison. He posted the caption, “Let’s see how Rick likes this vanilla coffee.” That rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way.

This all happened after Rick called out, “Chum, give me a cup of coffee.” When Chumlee asks if he wants it black, Rick says he knows how he likes it. He brought him the coffee with some vanilla in it, and Rick ended up spitting it out.
Fans immediately took to the comments, calling for Rick to fire his long-time employee.
- “I’m surprised he kept his job as long as he did. Rick, I would have fired him a long time ago.”
- “I could never understand why “The Old Man” put up with him!”
- “Its a miracle you still work at the pawn shop”
Of course, there are also people who like the prank and enjoy the interactions between Chumlee and Rick. Not everyone takes these things so seriously.
