Hallmark’s 2024 June themed movies are called Passport To Love. The second movie in this group is called Savoring Paris, starring One Tree Hill alum Bethany Joy Lenz. Despite her mother’s warnings, Ella has decided to chuck her job at an American food company and head to Paris, the city where she spent her happiest moments. There, Ella embraces her new freedom, while enjoying cheese, as well as the attention of two different suitors.
All she has to do is figure out what she wants from life.
Why Is Savoring Paris Role ‘Special’ To Bethany Joy Lenz?
The latest Bethany Joy Lenz movie Savoring Paris is about a woman who leaves a secure job for some adventure in Paris, and to try all the best cheese she can find. Speaking to People, Lenz revealed that filming part of this movie in Paris was “a dream, as expected.” She added, “I loved the wildness of it. You can’t control Paris.” Lenz explained, “You can’t tell pedestrians what to do. You just have to improvise with whatever you have. It was terrific fun.”
In addition to accepting that Paris was going to be unpredictable, this role turned out to be “special” to the 43-year-old actress. This role changed who she was. “This film will always be special to me because of what I learned from my character.”
Next, she compared her character of Ella to herself. “She’s the first woman I’ve played who is used to making space for everyone else, but taking up none of her own. I’ve usually felt like I need to fight for my space, so living in the skin of someone more demure was a unique experience.”
This led her to make some changes to her personal life. “It forced me to slow down, listen more, empathize more, stop trying to lead or control things. I loved it and I hope I can carry that lesson on in perpetuity.”
