‘Y&R’ Eric Braeden Pays Tribute To Late Dabney Coleman
The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden has taken the time to pay tribute to late actor, Dabney Coleman. Coleman passed away on Thursday, May 16th at the age of 92 and it was a huge blow to the acting community. So, what did Eric have to say about his longtime friend and the iconic actor? Y&R Eric Braeden Pays Tribute To Late Dabney Coleman
It was a heartbreaking day when legendary actor, Dabney Coleman passed away. He had starred in such films as 9 to 5, Tootsie, and You’ve Got Mail. Though he was 92 at the time of his death, it did not make it any easier for those who loved and idolized him. His final role was in the hit series, Yellowstone so he spanned many generations. Even The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden had kind words to say about his friend, Dabney, According to Monsters & Critics, the two had been close for many years.
So much so that Dabney was there for milestones in Eric’s career like when Eric Braeden celebrated forty years on Y&R as Victor Webster. More so, it was Dabney who encouraged Eric to take on the role that has forever changed his life. Eric paid tribute to his late friend on Instagram with two photos of them at his forty-year celebration. He is holding Dabney’s face and the two men are beaming at one another. In the caption, Eric wrote this:
“My old friend, Dabney Coleman, just passed! Upon his recommendation did I decide to do Y&R! Dabney was 92! A great actor, great friend and tennis player! REST IN PEACE, my friend!!!”

It was such a beautiful moment between two legendary actors and close friends that fans immediately could not help but echo Eric’s sentiments. So many loved Dabney Coleman and his work that they loved everything that was said about him. This has been a devastating loss to the acting world and heartbreaking for Eric.

Eric has faced his own challenges as he was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2023. That was terrifying for his family, loved ones, and fans. Luckily, by August 2023, he was in remission so hopefully, it stays that way. What a beautiful tribute for an amazing man.
