When Will ‘Big Brother’ Return For Season 26

CBS has finally revealed when Big Brother is returning for its 26th season on the air. We previously revealed that no episodes are scheduled for this fall, despite the show airing through November last year. However, with the TV schedule back to normal after the writer’s strike of 2023, this popular reality TV staple is also back to normal.

Here is when Big Brother 26 is premiering on CBS this year.

Big Brother‘s Return Date Announced By CBS

CBS announced its Summer 2024 schedule today, including when Big Brother fans will get to see the next season of the popular reality TV show. The premiere date of BB26 is now set for July 17 and 18 with a big two-night premiere.  After that, the show will move to its three-day-a-week schedule.

BB26 will air on Sunday nights at 10/9c starting July 26, Wednesday nights at 10/9c beginning July 17, and Thursday nights at 10/9c starting July 18. It will also partner with the second season of Tulsa King (9/8 c), the Sylvester Stallone drama series filmed in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as part of the state’s filmmaking incentive.

On Wednesdays, it pairs up with The Real CSI: Miami (11/10c) and Let’s Make a Deal Primetime (9/8c). Big Brother is the only new show airing on Thursday nights on CBS.

Last year, the reality series didn’t premiere until August and then played into the Fall 2023 schedule, ending in November. However, this was because of the writer’s strike, as no new scripted shows were being filmed during the strike. CBS (and other networks) needed to fill in the gaps in the schedule, and reality TV is where that happened.

CBS moved BB25 to the Fall 2023 season to ensure they had a popular show airing during one of the most important times of the year for advertisers. Now that things are back to normal in Hollywood, BB26 moves back to the summer.

What Can Fans Expect From Big Brother 26?

Julie Chen Moonves returns as host for BB26. The show is getting ready to launch, as there have been live auditions occurring throughout the early part of the year, and this will be another season with brand-new houseguests. However, the show’s producers have kept a lid on the season’s theme and whether there will be any special guests.

It also appears that the new season will keep the trait of the last two, with only around 80 days in the season. The seasons before hit 100 days, but with the show starting in mid-July, and it not being on the schedule at all for the Fall 2024 season, it will end in September to make room for hit drama shows like those in the Chicago One franchise.

If the show lasts until the end of September, that will top out at about 80 days.
