Could Tom Thornton And Elizabeth Thornton Share Their Grief?

Many Hearties may consider the return of Tom Thornton, a blast from the past. But, in this WCTH episode, he may be the catalyst for Elizabeth to move on from Jack’s death. In Season 10, as her marriage to Lucas was approaching, Elizabeth started to have panic attacks. Moreover, she showed symptoms of trauma. That is because she never got over the trauma of losing Jack. She was looking for safety and not for something more.

After the season concluded, new When Calls The Heart showrunner Lindsay Sturman, and the show’s co-creator Brian Bird revealed that Elizabeth was experiencing trauma. Now that she is reunited with Tom Thornton, the two can share their deep grief. This could be cathartic for both. Elizabeth cannot move on and find love unless she deals with her grief and trauma.

That this episode is in the middle of the season could be significant. At the beginning of Season 11, Elizabeth embraced changes. Now, she has to go through the process of healing. Will Elizabeth’s reunion with Tom help her move forward?

Hearties may need to have tissues nearby. This episode is called “Facing The Music.” This title could mean more than one thing. The choir may be getting an exciting opportunity. But, Elizabeth may be finally facing her grief.
