Peacock Raising Prices, On Patrol: Live Fans Rage

When it comes to pricing, Peacock is one of the more reasonably priced streamers. It includes the Bravo and NBCUniversal catalogs, shows like Chrisley Knows Best and The Office as well as new movies and live television. Plus, On Patrol: Live fans can watch the hit series making it even better and extremely well-rounded. Therefore, there are a lot of perks that come with Peacock for just $5.99 with ads, making it a lot of bang for the buck. However, that will all change come summer 2024. According to NBC News, prices will rise to $7.99/month for the ad version.

This will begin July 18th, 2024 and there seems to be a good reason behind it. They appear to be capitalizing on the summer Olympics, starting one week later. It’s not a drastic rise considering that Hulu is already at $7.99/month with ads, Netflix is $6.99/month with ads, and MAX is $9.99/month with ads. Once the news about the Peacock increase was released, OPL fans rushed to Reddit to vent their frustrations:

  • Peacock is raising their prices AGAIN. How are you folks watching live each week?

Peacock has become a fan favorite, especially for Bravo fans due to its uncensored content. Now On Patrol: Live fans have come to depend on it. So, what did fellow followers have to say?

  • Yeah I pay the $5.99 a month for Peacock and I’m super happy with it. I don’t think that’s too bad considering. I’d give up Netflix before I gave up Peacock because it has all my trash shows as well.
  • Not an issue until July. 🤷🏼‍♂️
  • With pocket change? It’s $8
  • I’ll still be watching with Peacock, because it’s the easiest way to watch on my TV without having a traditional TV company.

Suggestions Welcomed

Many On Patrol: Live fans who were also Peacock subscribers had suggestions to offer. They said that the best time to lock in great deals was Black Friday. Some were able to get it for $20 for the whole year and they just repeat this every holiday. Others brought up how Peacock offers student discounts. Plus, there are other ways to watch it like Sling or Philo.

What are your thoughts on the Peacock price increase? Is it too much or just enough? More so, will you keep the streamer despite the two-dollar rise? Let us know in the comments below.
