‘WCTH’: What Does Kevin McGarry Say About Upset Lucas Fans?
Hallmark will be premiering WCTH Season 11, Episode 3, entitled “Steps Forward” on Sunday, but there are still many disappointed Hearties who are on Team Lucas.
What does Kevin McGarry, who plays Elizabeth’s new love interest Nathan Grant in the Hallmark series have to say?
What Does Kevin McGarry Say About Lucas Fans During WCTH Season 11?
WCTH Season 10 ended with a broken engagement and a cliffhanger. Moreover, fewer Hearties were watching the premiere of Season 11 in comparison to last season’s premiere. There are a lot of unhappy Team Lucas fans. What does Kevin McGarry have to say about these dedicated fans?
Kevin spoke to Deidre Behar at ET prior to the Season 11 premiere. What did he have to say?
My message is that I am sorry if anybody is hurt from the way that the story is being told. That’s not anybody’s intention. The long-term [goal] is always to tell a great story. Tell a long story. And, you know, this was the decision–and I really hope that you stay with us. Every character is inherently good on the show and just because somebody is not with somebody else, it doesn’t mean that they’re not an important character on the show.
Basically, this seems to reiterate Brian Bird, the show’s creator, and Lindsay Sturman, the showrunner’s concern that by breaking up Elizabeth and Lucas, they would have more stories to tell.
What Did Chris McNally Think Of Broken Engagement?
In that same group of interviews, the actor playing the new Governor also talked about WCTH Season 11 with Deidre Behar on ET. Chris McNally revealed his reaction to the abrupt story shift.
Firstly he admitted it was “disappointing.” He explained that he thought it was “a while now that these characters are going to go together.” But, he explained that when they were going to break them apart, he revealed he was surprised, as “I thought we’d already gone through all of this, which I’m sure is that fan reactions might be.”
Lastly, Chris was concerned about the fans. He didn’t say “love triangle,” the vehicle introduced in Season 6 that tore apart the Hearties for several seasons. Since Season 10, that word phrase returned.
