Ryan Paevey Reveals Why He’s Taking Break From Acting
Lately, Ryan Paevey has been thinking it is time to step away from his acting career. While he says it is just a break, he gives more details about the much-needed pause from this industry.
2023 Was Hard On Ryan Paevey
While Ryan Paevey has earned his acting career with plenty of miles on General Hospital and touching Hallmark flicks, he thinks it’s time to stop. Sadly, many actors are facing difficulties since the 2023 writers’ strike took away filming opportunities. Likewise, Ryan is feeling these effects. Fortunately, he eeked in two Hallmark films during the writers’ strike last year. Moreover, his personal investment in an entity tanked, leaving him shaky on trusting ties within the industry.
Ryan Paevey Reveals His Apprehensions About Acting
Ryan Paevey let fans know he isn’t currently working on any projects in the acting world. Instead, he is shifting his focus to helping those most important to him. In real-life Hallmark fashion, he is assisting his brother at his restaurant by waiting tables. After making his investment with a company that in turn “stole his money” he is taking legal action but stepping back. But Ryan reveals pertinent information about his break from acting. Admittedly he says, “I may take 2024 off from filming unless the project is with friends.” Furthermore, he shares, “The last eight months of life in this industry have left a pretty bitter taste in my mouth, and I need some time away from a world so full of fake friends and empty promises. I’m weary.”
While fans were disappointed by the news, they understand. However, it is especially saddening after Ryan Paevey took the Women’s World’s top spot as Hallmark‘s fan-favorite hunk. In response, Ryan says, “Oh, it’s alright.” Additionally, saying, “I had a great run. I like my simple life in my shop, helping little bro, and frequent surfs. I have much to be grateful for.”
Living Life As It Comes
But Ryan Paevey hasn’t completely thrown in the towel yet. Admittedly, he says, “I’ll figure out a way to stay afloat without acting income. Who knows, maybe a film will come along.” Currently, he is focusing on helping his brother by waiting tables during staff storages in these trying times. Notably, he is giving his brother a hand up while Ryan also sorts through his uncertain future in acting. On Instagram, he clarifies he isn’t quitting acting to wait tables. He tells fans, “I worked at restaurants for a million years before I ended up on TV. I don’t even keep the tips. The tips all go to the other employees.”
Ryan Paevey Isn’t Slamming The Door On Acting
But Ryan Paevey isn’t slamming the door shut on acting. Correspondingly, he says on X, “I mean, I’d like to think the powers that be know I’d happily do another film if they wanted me to.” Genuinely, he adds, “But I just don’t know anymore. So, I’m just gonna do life, and make plans, and work… and whatever happens, happens.” While he waits to see how the chips fall for his acting career he isn’t wasting any time. When he isn’t aiding his brother, he is working in his shop. Furthermore, it is the home of his business, Fortunate Wanderer. Additionally, he uses the business to produce hand-crafted silver jewelry and apparel he sells online. Undoubtedly, it also gives Ryan time to focus on things he loves like photography, riding his motorcycle, and climbing.

I have 2 daughters who are around Ryan`s age. I always thought if I had a son I would have liked to have one like Ryan. That said my wife and I saw him on General Hospital and the Hallmark movies and could not understand why he was not on prime time tv or feature films. He always seemed to have that commanding personna when doing his scenes. Maybe he should fire his agent. Anyway we hope to see him soon in future roles. A waste of talent if he isn`t.
I enjoy Rya’n’s movies, and I seriously hope he returns. But I admire the fact that he isn’t one who considers himself above doing more menial tasks and activities. He’s down to earth – a “real people person”. Best of luck to him in whatever HE decides is in his best interest in life!
I have always so enjoyed watching him in hallmark movies . He has been my favorite by far. I do hope he returns to the screen in the future , but most important , he needs to take care of his own needs first . Best of luck Ryan.
