‘NCIS’ Longest Running Star Sean Murray Doesn’t ‘Feel Safe’ In Role
Sean Murray now holds the distinction of being the longest-running NCIS cast member. However, despite being the stepson of the show’s creator, Donald Bellisario, he still does not feel very secure in his job.
That seems so unlikely as on Monday, CBS will be celebrating the 1,000 episode of the NCISVerse. Yet, he remains uncertain.
Why doesn’t the actor who portrays geeky Agent Tim McGee “feel safe” in his long-time role?
Why NCIS Star Claims He Is Uncertain About His Future As Tim McGee
On Monday, CBS will celebrate 1,000 episodes of the NCIS universe. This is quite a milestone for this series that currently has several spinoffs including Hawaii and Sydney. In addition, they are adding two more this year, the young Gibbs series Origins, and a Ziva and Tony European spinoff.
However, actor Sean Murray, who is the longest-running cast member of the entire franchise does necessarily feel secure in his job. Recently, she spoke to People about this. The 46-year-old actor revealed “even after 21 seasons” he doesn’t know how much longer he will be on this hit series.
I think we learned this with things that have happened on the show over the years…No one is quite safe.
He then added, “Obviously, being here 21 years, [I] have enjoyed, immensely, being part of this show and continue to be incredibly grateful to be part of this show, but you never know what’s going to happen.”

The NCIS Cast Is Having A ‘Good Time’ Now
Although there have recently been some cast members who have left NCIS including Mark Harmon, Pauley Perrette, and Maria Bello, the core group has now remained the same. Moreover, it doesn’t look like anyone is itching to leave the hit CBS series.
Sean Murray is cautious as he predicts that not necessarily “anything’s for certain,” he does seem reassuring positive as he reveals that the cast is having a “good time,” and things in general are “really good right now.”
Most importantly, “And I don’t think anyone is itching to go elsewhere at the moment.”
