‘Bachelorette’ Charity Lawson Didn’t Expect Engagement
Bachelorette Charity Lawson is engaged to Dotun Olubeko who she met at the Bachelor Mansion, but she never expected that would happen. The news about the ABC star arrived when the 28-year-old went to the New York Bridal Fashion Week recently.
Charity Lawson Nurtures Her Relationship With Dotun Olubeko
As a child and family therapist, it’s no surprise that during Dancing With the Stars, Dotun’s love made sure that they both went to couple’s therapy. Mental well-being and his career as an integrative medicine specialist seem to meet nicely with her work. On top of the pressure of the competition, she seemed determined to be mindful every day about cherishing their relationship.
Charity Lawson gives plenty of updates about Dotun. During the DWTS Tour, she planned it so that she only traveled away for two weeks. In February, she gave an update about that, telling her ABC fans that Dotun caught up with her in Chicago and stayed with her for a few days on the tour. It was only after that was all done, that she could turn her mind to planning a wedding. But, she’s into it at the moment and her timeline includes a wedding gown by July.

Getting Engaged To Dotun Olubeko Wasn’t Likely To Happen
If you don’t know, she and Dotun Olubeko plan their wedding for 2025. She’s not planning a rushed event, and she isn’t going to have it filmed on TV. Additionally, they also plan a trip to Nigeria for a traditional wedding there so he can also celebrate his heritage. However, the former Bachelorette lead now claims that she never expected an engagement to happen in the first place.
The New York Times reported on the weekend, that the ABC star was at the New York Bridal Fashion Week to check out some of the wedding gowns. Charity Lawson told the outlet that people always want to ask her about when she’s getting married. However, she politely told them that it was none of their business. She said, “People want me to disclose our wedding day so bad, [but] that is between me, my family, and [my] fiance.”
Speaking about looking at wedding gowns and planning the wedding, The former Bachelorette from season 20 told the outlet:
It’s a lot, I came into all of this quickly. I didn’t envision myself even being engaged.
It’s hardly surprising that she felt a bit pressed over her engagement and wedding because she previously tried for the heart of Bachelor lead, Zach Shallcross. That failed, although she was a frontrunner, and she went straight into filming for The Bachelorette. As for getting engaged, maybe she’d planned to make a choice and then wait a bit before putting a ring on it.
