Fans Petition NBC To Renew Popular Crime Drama

Fans have begun to petition NBC for the renewal of a popular crime drama series. The Law & Order spinoff has quickly become a fan favorite, but it now stands to be axed from the network. Viewers are saying that they would be “crushed” if the show isn’t renewed. Keep reading to see what show is on the chopping block and what fans are saying.

Is Law & Order: Organized Crime On The Chopping Block?

Law & Order: Organized Crime has been on NBC for four seasons now. The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit spinoff follows Detective Elliot Stabler, who is played by Christopher Meloni. Its story shows him as he returns to the police force. However, he isn’t rejoining Detective Olivia Benson, played by Mariska Hargitay.

In this spinoff, Elliot joins a new task force and chases after more powerful criminals. As the show goes on, it seems like his emotions are getting in the way of him solving the crimes.

Season 4 of Law & Order: Organized Crime premiered on NBC on January 18, 2024. The season consisted of 13 episodes. However, because the show has not officially been renewed, fans are in a panic.

Fans Sign Petition Begging NBC To Renew The Show

A Change.org petition boasts more than 1,000 signatures (and counting) from loyal fans who don’t want to see NBC take the show off the air. The comment section of the online petition showcases how heartbroken viewers would be if the show came to an end after the fourth season.

“It’s far superior to SVU at this point,” one person wrote. Another fan commented, “Signed! I would be very crushed if it’s not renewed.” A third person said, “I really hope it gets renewed! I only actually watch the other two weekly because I look forward to this one!”

“Maybe Peacock will have [Organized Crime] exclusively on there! I hope somebody comes up with something to save the show!” another person wrote, referring to the streaming platform. Peacock has picked up other canceled shows in the past and has been able to revive them.

Fans have reason to be concerned. Organized Crime hasn’t had the easiest production history. In its short time on television, the program has been through six showrunners, a few who didn’t stick it out for an entire season. John Shiban was the showrunner for the latest season, but it is not yet clear if he will remain in the position if the show is renewed.

At this time, Law & Order: Organized Crime simply has not been renewed yet. The renewal for Season 4 was announced in April of last year, so there is still time for NBC to let fans know that Organized Crime will be returning to television again at the beginning of 2025.

You can stream Season 4 of Law & Order: OC on Peacock.

  1. If Law & Order OC is cancelled, wouldn’t we have to pay to see it streamed on Peacock? Please keep this show on NBC right after L&O SVU where it belongs. These shows complement each other.
