Sealed With A Kiss

9-1-1 originally aired on Fox before getting canceled in 2023. ABC rescued the show, and 9-1-1 marked its 100th episode on Thursday, April 4, with a shocking development.

After multiple failed relationships with various women, Evan “Buck” Buckley found himself jealous of Eddie (Ryan Guzman) and Tommy’s (Lou Ferrigno Jr.) burgeoning friendship.

However, in the last moments of the episode, viewers found out that Buck wasn’t jealous of their friendship. Instead, the firefighter was harboring a secret crush on Tommy. The two men shared a steamy kiss and made plans for a date, which viewers will see next week.

Viewers were divided over the controversial kiss. Some people thought it came out of nowhere, but others looked back at Buck’s history on the show and claimed there were hints along the way.

Oliver Stark, the actor who plays Buck, told TV Line that there had been “crumbs” for years about Buck’s sexuality. As the controversy continues to rage on social media, Oliver Stark took to Instagram to speak out.

In a lengthy post to Instagram Story, the actor gave a shout-out to fans supporting the show exploring Buck’s bisexuality. “Humbled and overwhelmed by the positive reaction to Buck’s storyline,” he wrote.

He acknowledged that some viewers weren’t happy with the turn of events. But does it bother him? Not a bit. “If you are one of the smaller group of people commenting on my posts about how this has ruined the show, I would like you to know that I truly don’t care,” Oliver Stark said to the haters.

“This is a show about love and inclusion. It’s featured queer relationships from the very beginning,” he added.

The showrunners don’t have to worry about the controversial storyline affecting the future of the show. ABC already renewed 9-1-1 for Season 8.
