Next week TV shows The Bachelor and 9-1-1 will crossover in a special episode. How did the collaboration happen? Keep reading for all the details on the television event of the year.

Joey Graziadei Makes Acting Debut

Joey Graziadei has experience as a leading man on The Bachelor. However, he’s about to jump from reality TV to scripted television with an appearance on 9-1-1. The fourth episode of Season 7 of the First Responder drama will feature a fictional incident at the famous Bachelor mansion.

It may be the last time viewers see the iconic estate. Jenn Tran’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette won’t film there, and it’s unclear if this fall’s Golden Bachelorette will either.

Joey Graziadei and Bachelor host Jesse Palmer will appear in the 9-1-1 crossover episode. But it won’t be Jesse Palmer’s first acting gig. According to IMDb. he appeared on an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The trailer for the episode of 9-1-1 hints at an accident requiring a fire truck and ambulance from Station 118 during a fictional limo arrival at the mansion. But how did the crossover idea happen to begin with?

How The Bachelor And 9-1-1 Crossover Happened

Jennifer Love Hewitt is to be thanked for the epic crossover event. The actress is a huge Bachelor Nation fan. She once even dated Ben Flajnik between the time he was a Bachelorette contestant and Bachelor Season 16 lead. But getting dumped by Flajnik didn’t turn her off the dating show.

She was spotted in the studio audience at the live Golden Bachelor finale. Photos of her went viral after the camera kept panning to her reaction shots.

9-1-1 was originally a Fox show. The network canceled it in 2023 after six seasons, but it was quickly saved by ABC. Season 7 premiered earlier this month. When the show moved to ABC, Jennifer Love Hewitt – who stars as 911 dispatcher Maddie Buckley – pitched a crossover with her favorite show.

9-1-1 showrunner Tim Minear recounted the conversation to Entertainment Weekly, “She’s a huge fan of The Bachelor and she said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if the 118 responded to a call at the Bachelor mansion?'”

He went on to praise the Bachelor crew as “unbelievably supportive and helpful” in making the crossover happen. According to ET, Jesse Palmer is the one to call Maddie during the emergency.

The Bachelor and 9-1-1 crossover airs on ABC on Thursday, April 4, at 8 PM Eastern time. That gives you plenty of time to catch up on the first six seasons of 9-1-1, which are streaming on Hulu.
