Trent Johnston Continues To Mourn Tragic Death Of Father
Trent Johnston shared the devastating news of the loss of his father on Wednesday. The 7 Little Johnstons star posted a tribute on Instagram, informing fans that “Poppy” died. Keep reading to see what Trent had to say about his dad as well as the sweet throwback photo he shared.
Trent Johnston Continues To Mourn Poppy
On March 12, Trent Johnston shared a photo of his dad, known as Poppy from the TLC series. The photo, which he posted to his Instagram Story, had a message written over it. It read, “Heaven gained an amazing man, our Poppy,” along with a blue heart emoji.
Just a few months before, the community gathered to celebrate Poppy’s 90th birthday. Now, the family looks back on the celebration and they are “grateful” they got the opportunity to spend it with him. Poppy’s health had been steadily declining for several years. He needed more help getting around recently and relied on his wife to perform everyday tasks.
In a post on Facebook, the 7 Little Johnstons star shared information about the funeral arrangements with his followers. He wrote, “He was tired and at peace within. Last Saturday, I was able to confirm with him that he loved the lord and his family!”
7 Little Johnstons Fans Show Support For Trent & Family
It is clear the Johnston family is still mourning Poppy.
Yesterday, Trent Johnston shared a throwback photo of his dad. While there was no caption on the post, those who saw his photo on his Story early last month knew that he was mourning the loss of his father.
The photo showed Trent Johnston as a young boy. He was sleeping with his head on a white pillow with Poppy snoozing next to him. Trent’s arm could be seen in the snapshot underneath his dad’s head and his little foot was laying across Poppy’s back.

Fans were eager to show their support for the mourning TLC star in the comments. Even though Poppy wasn’t featured on the TLC show, Trent made sure that fans knew him by posting photos and updates about him regularly.
The sweet memory touched many of the TLC fans. “So sorry for your loss. Sending you all strength during this difficult time,” one fan wrote.
Another offered condolences, “May God give you the peace and grace to face your road ahead..it’s not a easy one but he will always be with you. Much love and prayers for you all.” A third person commented, “Naps with daddy were always the best. I am so sad to hear about your father passing.”
