Nick Viall Reveals Why Maria Georgas Turned Down ‘Bachelorette’
Maria Georgas did not find love with Joey Graziadei on The Bachelor. After her shocking elimination, she was rumored to be the top contender for the next Bachelorette. Did she turn it down for the reasons Nick Viall heard? Keep reading for all the (alleged) tea.
Nick Viall Reveals Why Maria Georgas Turned Down Bachelorette
Jenn Tran was announced as the next Bachelorette lead at the After the Final Rose special earlier this week. Her season reportedly just started filming and will air on ABC sometime this summer. However, she wasn’t the fan-favorite choice. Many Bachelor Nation fans were rooting for either Daisy Kent or Maria Georgas as the Season 21 Bachelorette. Online rumors speculate that they both turned it down before the network chose fifth-place winner Jenn Tran.
Nick Viall is rumored to be one of Maria’s biggest fans. He discussed her allegedly turning down The Bachelorette on a recent edition of his Viall Files podcast. According to Nick, he has the inside scoop on why Maria wasn’t chosen.
One Bachelor Nation fan who listened to the podcast episode shared a summary on Reddit. “Nick said he heard from a friend that Maria was the #1 pick but after consideration, Maria’s dad told her to turn it down. Either it didn’t pay enough or the contract wasn’t doing good for her,” the fan wrote.
According to the Redditor, Nick Viall also had an alternate theory of what happened. “If that’s not the case, their other theory is that Maria negotiated herself out of being bachelorette. She might’ve been asking the franchise to pay her more because she brought in a lot of views and engagement.”
Fans Weigh In
Bachelor Nation fans took to the comments to dive into Nick’s theories. Check out what they had to say:
- This seems like total unverified tea but I wouldn’t be surprised to hear Maria’s dad had that much of a say in her decision making- he seems to bankroll her life, for one thing.
- If she did try to negotiate, the network shouldn’t have been surprised. I did a quick Google search and it seems like the standard is $100k, but that’s been the standard for years.
- I remember how Hannah B was almost the lead again, but the contract negotiations fell through as well. Same with Peter K allegedly
- Maria will eventually land on some other reality show. If Corrine and Victoria Larson can be on House of Villains producers from other shows will be looking out for more standout Bachelor contestants.
Another Theory
Nick Viall isn’t the only one with his ear to the ground. Ashley Iaconetti shared her own theory on the Almost Famous podcast about why Maria didn’t get Bachelorette.
“Just finished listening to Almost Famous and Ashley said according to her “sources” Daisy didn’t want to be Bachelorette and Maria was ultimately not chosen because production’s afraid she was going to be a handful.” – Reddit user
Maria Georgas threw her support behind Jenn Tran and hasn’t confirmed whether she was even offered The Bachelorette. Which theory do you think is the most likely to be true? Share your thoughts in the comments.
