Inside The Famous Reality TV Estate

Not all icons are people! A sprawling 10,000-square-foot estate nestled in the Santa Monica mountains of Malibu, California, is as famous to Bachelor Nation viewers as the leads. The huge mansion serves as the backdrop for both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, where hundreds of contestants have entered its gates, hoping to find love.

The Golden Bachelor and its upcoming spinoff, The Golden Bachelorette, also used the location. In fact, it’s been a staple of the franchise since 2007. Nearly every season has been filmed there, minus Emily Maynard’s and the seasons filmed during the COVID pandemic. Season 16 of The Bachelorette was filmed at a La Quinta Resort in California that was later the site of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s wedding.

Bachelor Nation viewers are very familiar with the mansion. The lead greets his or her contestants in the glistening driveway. Fun fact: They spray the driveway down with water during filming to make it shine.

The area where the mansion is was in danger of the wildfires that ravaged the area in 2018. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Camille Grammer lost her home to the fire.

The Bachelor mansion was spared in 2018, but an ambulance spotted out front in March 2024 has fans worried. What’s going on?

PEOPLE magazine was the first to break the news of an ambulance outside the mansion. Season 28 of The Bachelor is currently airing. Viewers know that Joey Graziadei, host Jesse Palmer, and the final three women are safe in Mexico. What’s with the ambulance?

The outlet exclusively revealed a cross-over event no one saw coming. The scripted show 9-1-1 recently jumped from Fox to ABC. In a genius move to network synergy, the fictional first responders show up at the very real Bachelor mansion.

Fans will have to tune in to see if anyone from the Bachelor franchise makes an appearance on 9-1-1. The network didn’t reveal an airdate for the upcoming crossover.

The Bachelor airs on ABC on Mondays at 8 PM Eastern. 9-1-1, starring Peter Krause and Jennifer Love Hewitt, airs on Thursdays at 8 PM Eastern.
