DOOL star Greg Vaughan shared news of an unexpected health scare that happened during a recent vacation. Keep ready for all the details.

Will He Bring Lucky Back To General Hospital?

Greg Vaughan is most known for his portrayal of the beloved character Eric Brady on Days Of Our Lives. But that wasn’t his first soap role. The heartthrob got his daytime start as Diego Guittierez on The Young & The Restless. However, the role on the CBS soap was short-lived.

In 2003, he joined the ABC soap General Hospital as legacy character Lucky Spencer, taking over from Jacob Young. The son of Luke and Laura was originated by Jonathan Jackson in 1993. Greg Vaughan played the role until 2009, when Jonathan Jackson returned. He left again in 2011 and was last seen briefly in 2015.

Almost ten years later, General Hospital fans are clamoring for Lucky Spencer to return to Port Charles. If the character did return, fans are divided over whether they want Jonathan Jackson or Greg Vaughan to reprise the role.

But the other fan-favorite actor might not be available. He joined Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady in 2012 and has played the character off-and-on ever since.

Old-school fans might recognize him from primetime gigs on Charmed and Beverly Hills 90210.

DOOL Greg Vaughan Lands In ER During Vacation

While on vacation, enjoying what should have been a relaxing break, Eric Brady’s portrayer encountered a life-threatening situation. He took to his Instagram to share photos from his hospital bed. Keeping his sense of humor, he began his lengthy caption by quoting the movie Forrest Gump. “Life is like a box of chocolates, “you never know whatcha gonna get!”

The soap star was on vacation with the three sons he shares with ex-wife Touriya Haoud when he started to feel ill.

The actor wrote, “Father & Sons Colorado Spring Break! Here it goes! I was feeling somewhat tired after 1day, experiencing shortness of breath climbing a few flights of stairs, wheezy, some congestion after some cold snowy conditions, and a headache developing.”

Instead of heading right to the emergency room, he waited the symptoms out for two days. What was wrong with him?

What Happened?

Greg Vaughan’s illness was serious but quickly remedied. “Two full days gone, enough was enough, I finally surrendered & went to urgent care and to my shock I learned that I was experiencing severe altitude sickness,” he revealed on social media.

Thankfully, Vaughan’s updates on social media indicated a positive turn in his recovery, with his blood oxygen levels returning to safer figures after receiving IV therapy.
