A very “selfish” Mama June Shannon is refusing to help Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson with her college tuition. Not only that but she is putting the responsibility on other family members. Plus, she is acting as if Alana has no chance of succeeding once she gets to Colorado. How is she doing this? Read on for more details.

‘Selfish’ Mama June Refuses To Help Alana With College

Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson finally made up her mind to go to Regis University in Colorado. She does not seem to care if her boyfriend can come. Additionally, she was on a time crunch to accept her $21K scholarship yet she learned she will need more money per semester. The year is over $40K so she is hopeful that her money from being on television as a child will come in handy. Therefore, she and Pumpkin are going to ask Mama June to help out with the aid of Jessica Shannon. After all, June paid for Jessica’s schooling so she could do the same for Alana.

Unfortunately, June has spent all of Alana’s money as they will all soon learn. In the meantime, People has a preview of Pumpkin and her husband, Josh Efird losing their cool when June refuses to help in any capacity. They let her know that Alana will be going to Colorado regardless of what has gone down. However, they would like to know if she would be willing to help in any capacity. June is adamant that Alana “really needs to just get her s— together” before anything happens.

That’s when Pumpkin says: “I know, mama. So the main thing I need you to do is call and check about that Coogan account. You’re not forking any money out and her payments for college are due very soon.” Now, a Coogan account is for child actors and performers to protect their money. Mama June still declines to help no matter what Pumpkin and Josh do for Alana. Josh is actually shocked and he has never cared for June:

“You know, after the amount of s— that June has put Alana through, you figured she would want to pay for the entire college or at least pay for semester or two, but, like, nope. I don’t see her voluntarily chipping in nothing. It’s selfish, you know, is what I’m saying.”

Make Them Pay

Mama June has decided that it would be best and right if Pumpkin and Josh Efird pay for Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson’s college. After all, they were the ones who raised her. “If she can’t invest in her own self, then why should I? What money are you and Josh willing to put up?” June asks. Pumpkin reminds Mama that she is not Alana’s mother but June has a comeback for that: “But you said that you were mom, and you’ve raised her and all that, so don’t even try that s—.”

Pumpkin realizes June is completely blind to the whole point she is trying to make:

“The point is you’re not willing to help at all, and it does make Alana think that you don’t believe in her. I mean, do you say we just had the money to up and fly to Colorado? We’re doing that because we believe in her. That’s what a mother does.”

This would have been unbelievable had Mama June not tried to get out of paying child support when she turned over custody to Pumpkin. Do you think she is doing this because she knows she blew the money so she had to turn the tables? Let us know and watch Family Crisis Fridays on WeTV.
