Real Reason Scheana Shay Not On ‘DWTS’

Is there a real reason as to why Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay has not been invited to join DWTS? She was crying over Ariana Madix getting cast on the series on the Tuesday, March 5th episode. Then, she said something very telling. So, why has Shay not been asked to perform? Read on for more details.

Real Reason Scheana Shay Not On DWTS

Shortly after ‘Scandoval’ broke, it was rumored that Ariana Madix would be on DWTS. Then she was the first star announced for Season 32 which was such an exciting moment for her. According to her ex-boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, this was something she had wanted forever so it was really a dream come true. She had friends and family in the audience every week to support her. Now that Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules is airing, fans are getting to see Madix rebuild her life post-affair. She is very adamant that her friends do not associate with Sandoval.

This is really hard for her best friend, Scheana Shay, who was close to Sandoval prior to meeting Ariana. He even gave her money during the pandemic when she was broke and pregnant. During the latest episode, Scheana is lying with Lala Kent and she is talking about Ariana. She says how happy she is for her getting DWTS however this was something she always wanted, as well. Though Shay did not get the call to join, she said she would be there every week, cheering her friend on. Now, there may be a reason Shay was never asked.

According to Us Weekly, Scheana Shay was blacklisted from DWTS for some time after they found a weed pen in her bag. She discussed it at the end of 2023 when Ariana was dancing her heart out.

“My bestie is on Dancing With the Stars and she is crushing it. For those of you who didn’t hear about that, long story short, five years ago I had a weed pen in my purse. They said I couldn’t bring marijuana onto federal property and they took my ID and put me in their system. They said I was banned, and I thought it was a lifetime ban to never come back.”

So, Scheana Shay wanted to be on the show desperately yet she believed that she was never allowed back. Therefore, she put herself in a situation to not be invited on. However, what the podcaster did not know was that it was only a 90-day ban. She discovered this when she went to see RHONJ star Teresa Giudice dance in Season 31. “I now found out it was only a 90-day ban, so I could have been going back but I was terrified to go.”
