“Romance revs up when former flames face-off in an auto restoration competition.” Here is more about Hallmark’s Shifting Gears. According to the synopsis, Jess Barro is a Motor City mechanic. She and her pops Ray run the family-owned garage. Unfortunately, another auto repair shop is getting some of their business. Unfortunately, they are not putting enough money into the cash register.
However, things start to look up. Jess, whose passion is vintage car restoration, is asked to compete in a show where she can showcase her skills. The only reason Jess is entertaining the idea of participating is because they need the money so badly. So, she signs up.
But, she instantly regrets this. That is because her ex-boyfriend Luke is competing as well. They were hot and heavy until his father, her dad’s business partner, cut him out of an important deal. Therefore, Jess cut all ties with Luke. Now, the animosity between the two has become a huge hit on the show.
Soon, the former couple are working together. All goes smoothly until Luke has a painting mishap. This could keep Jess from winning the whole thing. Then the worst thing of all happens. Luke’s dad wants to buy her family’s garage. Was the paint disaster a mishap or was it intentional?
Now, Jess has to determine if this is true love or just business as usual.

Hallmark’s new Spring Into Love movie Shifting Gears has a Signed, Sealed, Delivered reunion. Firstly, Kristin Booth is a co-star in this movie. Secondly, Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe is the director of this romcom. Although Booth and Lowe are not sharing the screen, the two SSD besties are reunited.
In addition, this movie is Yan-Kay’s directorial debut. She was the first recipient of the Hallmark Make Her Mark Women’s Directing Program. The idea for this program came from Ashley Williams. This is a mentoring program for women who want to become directors.
