The first episode of Where Is Wendy Williams? aired this weekend and many of her fans learned a lot about the former talk show host. Many people were surprised to hear the details of her debilitating condition and even more shocked to learn about her interactions with her family. Namely, viewers were floored at the relationship with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., and how she has supported him. Continue reading to see how surprised fans were to learn that Wendy Williams spent more than $100,000 on Uber Eats orders for her son.

Was Wendy Williams’ Family Exploiting Her Financially?

About halfway through the first episode of the Lifetime docuseries, the producers questioned Wendy Williams’ nephew Travis Finnie about whether or not any of the family tried to exploit her in any way. The documentary then cuts to Wendy’s son, Kevin Hunter Jr., who was speaking about how Wells Fargo accused the family of doing just that.

He said, “When my mom was living down here, as one can imagine, it’s not a cheap lifestyle. The courts tried to frame it as though I was making all these charges for my own happiness. My mom has never been a cheap person so whether to be flying her back and forth on private planes or even paying for appointments. It was all under one American Express.”

Wendy Williams admits to living a luxurious life. She also said that she cares for her family a lot, which led to her overspending on some things.

The camera showed Travis Finnie detailing how Kevin apparently spent $100,000 of his mother’s money. “To put it into perspective,” Wendy’s nephew said, “Kevin’s birthday party that his mom threw was $120,000. Kevin’s rent was $80,000. Kevin’s Uber Eats probably exceeded $100,000 that his mom approves.” Travis then said that it seemed ridiculous for the courts to take Kevin’s ability to care for his mother away.

When asked if he took any money from Wendy himself, Travis responded, “Not without her consent. The people involved with it know how the process was. I feel like everyone is trying to protect themselves at this point. I’ve never told nothing but the truth when it came to that.”

Fans Aren’t Convinced That The Family Wasn’t Taking Advantage Of Her

Fans didn’t seem to be convinced that Wendy Williams’ family wasn’t taking advantage of her after seeing the first episode. Many people took to social media to share their thoughts.

“If you watched #WendyWilliams then you will remember how she talked about being thrifty about groceries. She would not be okay spending $100k on Uber eats. I’m not convinced,” one person wrote on X.

Another fan agreed writing, “HOW YOU SPEND 100K ON UBER EATS KNOWING UR MOMMA OUT OF WORK.. ?”

One person questioned how you even rack up that kind of expense on Uber Eats. “Wait a minute. I ain’t rich but I might spend $200 per month on Doordash/Uber Eats. $350 this month because of the super bowl. But $100,00? What are you doing? Ordering Steak, Caviar and Lobster every day?”

You can see Where Is Wendy Williams? on Lifetime again this weekend, starting at 8 p.m. EST on Friday.
