‘Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Had Hidden Exit Plan, Played Kody?
Meri Brown stuck around with Kody Brown and Robyn long after her catfishing experience. Was she doing it to hatch a cunning plan? Or was the Sister Wives star just not bright enough to read the room? TLC’s Meri Brown Made Her Own Money
Robyn got all tearful when Kody Brown discussed the departure of his former first wife. However, TLC fans suspect that she always planned for the other wives to leave. And, they believe she coveted the position as the only legal wife in the family. Furthermore, suspicion arose that she wanted to keep the other wives’ assets when she remained as the last one standing.
Meri Brown, unlike Robyn, made a serious effort to bring in an independent income via her LuLaRue business. Judging by her social media and her many activities, she did very well. Later, she went and purchased her family property which became Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, located in Parowan, Utah. And all the time, her husband belittled and scorned her on the Sister Wives show. Did she accept that because she made another plan to escape?
Sister Wives Star Was Cunning & Clever?
It was only in Season 18, that TLC fans discovered Kody and his former first wife stopped any intimacy and agreed it was over many years ago. Both of them continued filming, despite living a lie. Perhaps she needed to get in as much as she could, knowing that one day, she’d be free. Sister Wives fans discussed it on Reddit this weekend

Meri isnt stupid…What if Meri’s hanging on to Kody was to fund a stronger financial exit strategy, and she was biding her time until she had something to land on (the bnb). Whether by design or not, her getting a legal divorce was smart… it put distance between kody and whatever she built for herself.
Some Sister Wives fans thought that Meri Brown was cunning and clever. However, others opined that the TLC star might just have been brainwashed.
- Her pyramid scheme clothing company was making bank and she owned her own property, they needed her more than she needed them. Robyn wanted those phat lularoe cheques.
- Meri stayed with Kody because she was brought up in a fundie cult. I don’t think she is stupid. Just brainwashed. I wish her the best. I hope she finds happiness.
- It wasn’t about her financial situation, it was her spiritual situation. She wasn’t going to let one person doubt whether she did the right thing or not, so she waited and waited until it was obvious there was no marriage left.
